Anyone know if ANA charges fees for a *A award on CO? I am particularly interested in the fees for RT EWR-TLV. I dont want to transfer my SPG points into ANA until I know what the fees are and was hoping someone either knew or had the ANA points to try a sample booking to see what it comes out to.

Thanks.

AS - no on any metal, except yes on BA
DL - no, except from Europe (Could be $500 plus miles - there are tricks to avoid it, like open jaw)
BA - yes on own AY and IB, no on AA metal
Alitalia - no
Lan - no

fuel surcharges levied by the carrier

BA on LA - No, as far as I can tell.

I paid a total of USD 107 for LA flights in U (business) class GIG-SCL-IPC-SCL-GIG. The agent said it was all for Brazilian and Chilean taxes; no fuel surcharge according to him. The print out states:

"The price of your ticket includes an offline booking fee of USD 20.00, a security and insurance surcharge and a fuel surcharge per sector levied by the carrier."

According to that fuel surcharges seem to be levied by the carrier, not the ticket issuer.

British Airways does make their fuel surcharges public:

http://www.britishairways.com/travel...e/public/en_gb

It's still unclear to me, however, whether they charge these rates for awards on their partner airlines...

I have reward tickets on Singapore Airlines for January, JFK to BKK and return and no fuel surcharge.

SQ does charge YQ, if you redeem using SQ miles. YQ seems to based on the frequent flyer program instead of the airline redeemed on. Like redeeming SQ flight via UA miles, there is no YQ, but if using SQ miles on a SQ flight, there is YQ.

Correction: DL charges YQ for trips originating anywhere outside US, not just the ones originating in EU.

BA award redemption on JL metal cost ~$150 for one ticket (was told "taxes").
If that's a fuel surcharge please add it to the list.

I am trying to use my BA Executive Club miles on American Airlines through their One World alliance from California to Europe. Unfortunately, BA insist on charging me over $900 in "charges" for two free tickets I have earned. Why are they allowed to charge this if I am flying on American? I thought they and Virgin America were sued and lost in court over these rediculous fees?! Hasn't this ever been resolved (not according to their booking service)!
