How about donating your miles to those who are less fortunate. There are lots of children in the war torn countries that need medical assistance in well off countries. If you are a religious member, donate unwanted miles to missionaries and aid workers who can better use the money saved to support the people in need.

Apologies for the rant but have to figure out something to do with these rewards and if someone is in the same situation as mine would be keen to hear them out.

If you have DL miles and you just want to dispatch of them quickly, try spending them on the Medallion Marketplace. It is kinda like going to a loan shark for a tooth brush, but you can use your miles for Golf Clubs, TV's, luggage, etc.

If it were me, I would probably just donate the miles or save them for retirement -- as another poster said.

Enjoy!

why not make up a contest in FT and give awards to winners. :D

or give them in the form of awards coming directly from you or thru some organization to military personnel who need to visit people when on leave.

:)MM

Thanks and once again apologies for tardiness.

I do recognize the importance of chiratable giving and to some extent I am keenly involved at the donation level which is commendable but can be labour consuming. I have to be honest that I do choose attentively (given time) at the aim of such organizations, and must admit (albeit at potential opinionation) that anything to do with war is out of my quest or grant giving abilities.

Since writing this topic, I had been traveling and as you know, time FLIES when you travel. Therefore it seems this morning was when I requested your help and to be perfectly clear the chances of me checking back to this site have been with all due respect obsolete, BUT dedicated and with curiosity. (come think of it, I checked my personal email less than FT this past week, so im trying hard!)

On a last note, a kind member of your site has offered to genreate ideas based on my balances and account relevance, and I send him a gratious Thank You with the information along.
Anyone else, feel free to message me. (And some of you were not shy at that!!)

Regards,

Roger

Hopefully they were not all requests for your miles :)

Thank You

I just wanted to close this thread with a warm Thank You to the brave and extremely talented bunch of this board.

I preface with another apology for all the PMs unanswered which are 22 upon my logging in. And being at home after a far east trip I am due for bed, however will promise to be responsive to the best of my abilities commencing next morn.

Again, your thoughtful insights have amassed a plethora of possibilities and frankly its becoming a duty that I am longing to, simply bcs of the time injected by some of you at your earnest to the best of causes; my free time:)

So long, and bid you all a good week-end.

Roger

Although you're gone, it can't hurt:

Donate them to a needy college student. :)

OK, the thread can be closed now. ;)

I am trying to figure out what to do with my all these miles / points.
GIVE THEM TO ME!!!!!!!

thegeneral Jun 25, 2007 6:54 pm

What to do with them? I could use a trip to see family in Germany. That should kill a few of em.

In terms of how much you fly, don't forget to fit a life in there. With 100 nights in a hotel you miss a lot. You can always buy plane tickets, but you can never buy time...

Have you talked to your employer and/or clients about using miles for business travel tickets instead of paying cash and reimbursing you for that, possibly at a discounted rate to make it a true win-win situation (i.e., you use your miles for a $10,000 ticket but they only reimburse you $7,500, 75% of the cash cost)?
