Question about Multiple iDine Accounts
 

I have two iDine accounts - one linked to AA and the other to UA. Each account has a different credit card. I know you only get credit for one visit each 30 days per restaurant, but I thought if I had two different accounts with different credit cards, I could get credit in each account once/month.

However, that does not seem to be happening. I only get credit for the first visit each month, no matter which credit card I use. Have other people had experience with this?

As long as your credit cards have different numbers you should get credit for both visits per month. I do this all the time, except that all my miles go to one airline.

It is within the idine rules, so I would call and ask why your second visit doesn't post.

You could even register more credit cards than two.

Edited to add: this used to work for me. All of a sudden it didn't with multiple visits to one restaurant per month. So, I tied each of my credit cards to different airlines and now have no problem.

Idine's computer even know's if you have the same credit card enrolled in another airline program and won't allow you to register it twice.

Sounds like there's some other kind of error going on here.

Yes, you should get credit. This has even been suggested to me by iDine CSRs on several occasions.

Program states quite clearly " one visit per month" even if you use a diffrent card you are not supposed to get credit for more than one visit.
Members have posted that they have gotten miles for multiple visits but that may just be a flaw in the system.
I recently had to call to get credit for the bar tabs which was charged separately from the meals on two recent ocasions.
You can have up to 3 cards linked to an airline or enroll in as many airline programs you wish( each with different card).
Note also Diners Club no longer accepted since Jan.

My daughter's account has two cards listed. I used each card on a DIFFERENT date (same restaurnat) in the same month. The miles did not post. I had to send in the receipts and they would only credit ONE of them (of course the higher amount). Maybe if there had not been a glitch with this restaurant in the system the points from both would have posted, but clearly it is their intention that ONLY ONE VISIT PER PERSON be posted (per month), no matter how many different cards are listed.

If you are enrolled in the Idine banked miles program, you can spend up to $600 and visit as many times as you want that month.

The miles are banked and you can transfer to USairways, United or Continental in 500 mile increments.

The only drawback is that if there is a discrepancy (missed post), the only way to track is is have the Idine CSR tell you your most recent transactions. You can't create a profile to view your activity online.

Two cards on two different accounts should post without any problems, I do it all the time.

Sign up for their e-mail notifications, then you will know a day or two after the meal if they got the information instead of waiting weeks or months for them to post.

There is no problem with getting miles from different FF accounts from the same restaurant.
I am registered in AA/UAL/NWA/Delta/HP and one particular month went to the same restaurant/bar 5 times ( its the local hangout for friends and I) got miles on 5 airlines ( by using different cards)
What I am not sure about is getting miles for the same airline more than once a month even if you use multiple cards.

I'm sure that linking two credit cards to one airline account would only give you one credit per month. So why don't you just register one credit card with one airline FF program and switch to another cc to dine and gain other airlines' mileage? It works well that way with me.

Btw, i thought one can only register up to 3 credit cards regarless linking to how many airline FF programs. Am i not correct? But you mentioned that you link to 5 airline FF accounts. Do you register 5 cc?

I think you can register up to three CC's per iDine account. Each airline program is considered a totally separate iDine account. Therefore, 5 airlines with 1 CC for each is no problem.

In fact, if you visit two or three iDine restaurants VERY frequently (i.e., lunch spots, neighborhood taverns, etc.), it's probably worth it to pick up as many simple no-fee credit cards as you need to max out the miles in the various programs iDine is hooked in to. I use 3 cards attached to UA, AA, and DL to earn quite a few "free" miles each month. I'm just not quite a big enough spender to switch to the 20%-discount program.

I've looked and looked but can't find the e-mail notification option anywhere on their site...got a hint?

I have similar question regarding iDine. If I visit a different location of the restaurant, can I get miles for each location I visit?

Randix, in the iDine FAQ it says that you can get email notification of visits, if you create a profile on line, and ask to have a newsletter sent to you. I just did that today, although I was able to register only one of my credit cards.
