Fly the Concorde to Paris for $3240 ?
I am starting a new thread on this one.
54 Inside flyers subscriptions*3,000= 162,000 miles Enough for a Delta Award on AF NYC-CDG Cost is $3240, much less than the $10,400 published cost. Let's discuss.... |
I think BA has done some discounting for the Concorde to around $5-6,000 but i thought it was concorde only one way (Club World return) with a lot of restrictions, which means this is still a heck of a deal for any concorde fan. Others may look at the SkyTeam around-the-world ticket which is more of a dream and goal than the concorde, but hey, i'm trying to sell magazine subscriptions first.
I think the Delta offer is every bit as generous as the Starwood offer and even means you can really earn the hilton points - but if you're off on the concorde, I'm not going to stop you - just ask that you take your latest issue of InsideFlyer along...... |
I believe there is a 15,000 mile per SkyMile Acct limit.
|
I am unsure what you are referring to in regards to a 15,000 mile limit.
Otherwise: No dice for me on this deal though. I blew my wad on the Starwood deal. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |
The wording on the insideflyer page is:
There is no limit to the number of packages you may order and you will receive 3,000 SkyMiles for every purchased package. However, Delta requires that you store any miles earned in excess of 50,000 to be used toward future redemption or give them to another SkyMiles member. I am not sure what " storing any miles in excess of 50,000 miles " means. **CORRECTION** It does say also: You can order as many packages as you like, however, per the rules of the Delta SkyMiles/SkyRewards program, you may only earn 50,000 miles in any calendar year from this promotion. If your order earns you more than 50,000 miles, Delta will allow you to store the miles in excess of 50,000 for future redemption or give the miles to another SkyMiles member. Customers whose order(s) earn more than 50,000 SkyMiles will receive an email from Delta with complete terms and conditions. No go for me, then . http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif [This message has been edited by Droneklax (edited 08-06-2002).] |
There is still the IF -> 3500 Diners -> 3500 BA running until the end of August.
That's $2160 for Concorde RT, but the timeframe is getting pretty tight. Both the IF promo and the 1 to 1 Diners to BA expire at the end of the month. Diners will expidite the transfer for a fee, and perhaps something can be worked out with IF. birdstrike [This message has been edited by birdstrike (edited 08-06-2002).] |
I stand corrected. I apologize.
|
IMHO, there should be no reason for Diners to have to expedite anything. As long as you request the transfer by calling Diners by 8/31, the double BA miles promo should apply. Call Diners to confirm this.
Also, I imagine that IF should be able to make sure the Diners points posting is expedited, if requested. |

We are going to do BA First overnight SFO-LHR, then Concorde/AA First LHR-JFK-SFO on the return. birdstrike [This message has been edited by birdstrike (edited 08-06-2002).] |
FWIW:
Another BA Concorde deal @$3,999 JFK-LHR & coach return! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum15/HTML/002002.html |
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by birdstrike: And it should be noted that, unlike the IF/*wood/Qantas promo, the Diners/BA award will get you to/from LHR from any NA city....</font> |
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by dhacker: Is this true for the all three awards or perhaps only the Concorde RT? The charts are not clear about travel to NYC.</font> The thread is titled "Fly the Concorde to Paris for $3240 ?", so perhaps this is all moot http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif birdstrike [This message has been edited by birdstrike (edited 08-06-2002).] |

I just checked again... Delta does not show any Corcorde or First Class awards on Air France. Am I missing something here? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
