¿Sell your Frequent Flyer Miles?
 

I know this has been discussed before but it appears Frequent Flyer Points still exists. What is the deal here? I thought these types of brokers were all but out of business.

I thought I might get a quote for my miles and UGs just to see what would happen but I'm way to chicken to do it. I'd never risk my accts for this type of deal.

In another thread, someone knowledgable posted that, if one was inclined to violate the terms of the programs, it is dumb to use brokers.

I don't know about the other thread, or who the person was who said it was "dumb" to use brokers.....
But my loss of many, many hundreds of thousands of FF miles due to the "brokers" ought to be testament enough.....In the (sort of) words of Nike: "just don't do it!"

In the above thread I said, "An acquaintance has sold approx 2.5M of his own FF miles since 1990, he's always dealt directly with the customer and none of his clients has ever had a problem using the award tickets. His cardinal rule is to NEVER EVER use a middle man/broker when dealing with awards - they can only mess things up."

I copy and paste, works like a charm.

If you have a Macintosh, just hold down the Option key as you type a regular question mark.

An analogous procedure will get you an upside-down exclamation point.

Most word processing programs have a menu where you can select literally hundreds of characters, from scientific, international linguistic, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, etc., to numerous icons.

For example, in Word Perfect, use Control-W.

You can also use ASCII codes. For example, for the upside down question mark, hold down Alt and type 168 on the numeric keypad. A list of codes can be found at www.asciitable.com; it has stuff like Spanish tildes and letters with accent marks and umlauts, circonflexes and the like.
