how close to you live to the airport

CORRECTION: How close DO you live to the airport??

I live about 5 miles from the airport. I see all kinds of planes flying over my head and that makes me want to fly everyday. I enjoy looking at the planes going over though.

According to Mapquest, 2.41 miles. As the crow flies, probably a mile and a half.

Around 25 miles...with car, when there is no traffic (haha) 25 Minutes...with normal traffic 1-1,5 hours. With public Transport 45 minutes.
BUT...the old Airport in Munich, now that one was a stone throw away, I walk in 10 minutes to the outer limits of the old one (thought its gone for 10 years now, time flies by).
By the way, we found a great thing at the Munich Airport. When we are there picking someone up, we normaly eat dinner or lunch there too, they have some great restaurants. They in return give you free parking tickets, cool deal, as the food is good and not more expensive than in other places.

This is probably a "travel buzz" item instead of "miles buzz."

When I lived in Washington DC, I lived 20-25 minute walk to National. Yes, that is walk, not drive. Great for mileage runs with only weekend carryon. Now, I live about 1 hour away from ICN airport and much higher fares. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

About a fifteen minute drive to JFK. Makes it tempting!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

15 minutes from FRA, 20 minutes in "rush-hour"

Western Airlines Jul 12, 2002 6:32 am

About 38 minutes with no traffic and exceding the speed limit in four cities. When returning home, again with no traffic, I can count on being home exactly one hour after the cabin door opens.

Now I live half way between DCA and IAD http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I live 0.5 mile from London City Airport - I can see the runway from my flat (on the other side of an old dock) and usually walk it in 15 minutes (or can get a taxi and do it in 2 minutes). When you combine this with 10-15 minutes check in time it becomes very convenient indeed!

I live an $80 taxi ride from DFW. My next move will be closer to the airport!

Unfortunately, 45 minutes from BOS - and that's at 3 am with no road construction. I'm close to two regional airports (MHT and ORH), but their lack of service to most places I go, even with a connection, plus difficulty in getting back if anything changes, to say nothing of the roads to ORH, make me put up with Logan most of the time.

Travel is worth it, though. (Off to California in an hour!)

about 10 miles south of SFO. I can usually see 2 planes heading into the parrallel runways for landing from my deck when the winds are from the usual direction.

I live 3.6 miles from Logan. MapQuest gives a driving time of 6 minutes, which I cannot imagine. I've done it in 10 minutes when the taxi has arrived at the Arlington/ Beacon traffic light perfectly and there has been no traffic in the tunnel or at its approach. I usually allow 20 minutes at low-traffic times of the day.

One of the best things about Back Bay/ Beacon Hill is that the city overflight patterns from Logan go either over the South End or to the North. I never hear an airplane.
