Obvious SPAM letter from (not) Randy...

Got this EIGHT times in my email box...

Message: As a frequent traveler you''re probably always looking for new ways
to earn extra frequent flyer miles. We have a promotion that ends this week
and from the comments we''ve received from those signing up – it''s easily one
of the best bonuses of the year.

Subscribe to the Frequent Flyer Package at any of the links below and earn
from 2,000-3,500 frequent flyer miles for only $59.95. This offer includes a
subscription to InsideFlyer magazine as well as a copy of the 500-page
Official Frequent Flyer Guidebook. To make things easy, here''s the current
offers ending this week and their links. Choose which offer sounds great for
you and use these bonus miles to top off an account, save miles for a rainy
day or just because you think that InsideFlyer is a great way for you to
earn more bonus miles and help you manage your programs.

And in case you are wondering – many new subscribers are ordering multiple
years and gift subscriptions while this offer lasts. Yes, earn an unlimited
number of bonus frequent flyer miles and points based on the number of
magazine and book orders you make. Again, this all ends on June 30th so read
and click to find out more about these offers.

Earn 2,500 miles from Continental OnePass
Who couldn''t use 2,500 bonus miles from this program? Some new subscribers
are saying it''s an easy way to ''top off'' their OnePass account and still get
the magazine and book to boot.

Earn 2,500 points from Starwood Preferred Guest
This Freddie award-winning hotel program is great for 2,500 points, which
can also be converted to 2,500 frequent flyer miles with just about any
frequent flyer program – American, United, Delta just to name a few. There''s
so much you can do with these points that it''s one of the bonuses of the
year,

Earn 2,000 points from US Airways Dividend Miles
We''re big supporters of this frequent flyer program and advise members not
to worry about their miles or awards right now and in fact, enjoy them this
summer. So don''t be afraid to add more miles to this program for a bonus
offer that doesn''t come around very often.

Earn 3,500 points from Diners Club Rewards
This might be the sleeper bonus of the year – certainly the richest offer we
have. Here''s a tip: Club Rewards currently has a 2-for-1 conversion to
British Airways miles and by using this promotion, you''ll earn 3,500 British
Airways miles if you choose to convert these bonus points into miles. A very
nice way to add to your other miles and this could lead to something big.

And????

ozstamps Jun 24, 2002 6:41 pm

Best deal around Monacoo. A concorde round trip for $1256 and you don't like folks being reminded of the idea? The 'delete' button on my computer is right next to the 'end' button. Try hitting that a few times and it would have taken you 50 times less time than typing up this silly thread. Randy should double your FT membership fee for your impudent thread. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

It is not SPAM if you checked on your initial FT user application you were interested in getting offers and info from Randy's businesses, so seeing you must have ticked the box, why are you moaning about getting what you asked for?

Me, I am looking into the BA offer as I did not realise it was so generous. Some folks see SPAM, and others see opportunity ... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I probably checked the box off too but I rec'd four at once..

My question is: Why is it necessary for the multiple emails on the same offer... even the spam on my hotmail only sends it one at a time

wharvey Jun 25, 2002 5:35 am

I was also disappointed to receive this so many times.

I was in chat last night when it hit my mailbox... and almost everyone in the room got it several times.

By now, I would expect that most people would know about the offer... if not, one email would have been enough.

I think you should ask the TB to stop this immediately wharvey. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I got it 5 times, but I need reminders... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I just got it once.

I wonder if maybe this is the reason for multiple emails; I know I signed up a few relatives and friends for the drawings that take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm almost positive I gave MY email address for each person. As much as I hate spam, I don't mind getting FT related email.

TrojanHorse Jun 25, 2002 8:42 am

Even if I did need reminders this wouldn't help because all four of mine came in one shot. So hence I only opned the first one read it and the rest deleted. Now if I needed a reminder, it would pay them to send them at various intervals.

I received three identical emails, but I know I didn't sign up for any drawings. I'm willing to put up with technical glitches from systems that I requested mailing from. It's not spam at all.

It wasn't sent to my regular email address, it was sent to an addres I haven't used for almost a year now so it was probably taken from an old promo or competition on FT.

Receiving an email (of 9 in my case) is no problem considering the amount of help FT is, I see more spam on FT than I ever get from them in my email box http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Flintstone Jun 25, 2002 9:12 am

Choice #1 Get 5 or 8 e-mails from FT

Choice #2 Get 1 from someone claiming Bill Gates and AOL were going to pay me $240 for every email I forwarded, or 1 claiming I can get a reputable university degree in 10 days...

I'll take Choice #1.....

There are so many emails that are a true waste of time. At least with FT, it serves a purpose....to help us.

Better to be reminded more than once than to have missed the boat altogether...
