Delta and Magazine.com
Just got an email from Delta and it listed Magazine.com for bonus miles. 30 miles per dollar. Here is the clip from the email...
"Earn DOUBLE MILES at SkyMilesShopping.com Over 100 stores offering Double Miles until March 10th—that's 30 Miles/$1 at Magazines.com and 4 Miles/$1 at Barnes & Noble.com! Register your SkyMiles number and shop today for double miles." At .03 cents a mile, its not a bad deal, if anyone has a better deal please post. Thank you |
I hope this is the right forum for this..

Uh oh, Goldpoints/valuemag part duex! (not quite, but close)
|
Hi flipside, Im sorry I dont follow, should I post this in the "Goldpoints/valuemag part duex!" thread? thank you
|
My email says "23 miles/$1 spent" at Magazine.com, which would be $0.0435 per mile. In any event one can buy American Express Membership Rewards points that convert 1:1 to Skymiles for $0.025 each.

When I pull up the link, it also says 23/$.
Just looking at the Wall Street Journal, on the DL site, it's 336 issues for (IIRC) $249 and 23/$. But if you want to go through the AGR site, it's 306 issues for $99 and 20/$. So for ~$150 less, I think AGR is better! YMMV. |

it indeed says 23 miles/$1. Is that the amount that is already doubled? Or would the 23 be doubled?

I've found that alot of stores I shop at are available through the Delta shopping portal. Seems like a really good deal.

hmmm, having only like 1.500 miles left in Delta, I actually got a card from them over the summer suggesting I convert these into mags and I was able to sign up for 3 subscriptions!
2 subs. came as planned, one had to be called about for a couple months but it eventually came and they offered me some extra issues too because of the mix up. I now have like 50 miles in my non used DL account. :D the goal has been to not have miles in the accounts I do not use (I use NWA, a partner) and i had been prepared to lose the remaining minutia. Anyway, I should note that one thing I also received was one of the craftily worded marketing letters that says you can add on another year for only $1 and blah blah blah.... BUT the fine print has a little section on how, if you FAIL to send in some post card they are supposed to mail you or this and that, you will get billed the full rate for all the mags... And they werent giving you any deals! I guess the moral of the story is this--either way you go: Just be careful of these things. Only sign up for what you wanted to and set out for. :)MM |
Surprised this hasn't been moved to Delta section.
Nice offer, double miles for buying merchandise that you would otherwise purchase, but the original posting seems to suggest buying magazines purely to earn miles and this is not good value even at 30 miles per dollar, let alone 23. |
Hmmm, Im kinda confused now, the original email I got was on Jan 31st which said 30 cents per $ then on Feb 1st I got an email that says 23 cents. Tried to call Delta on this with no luck because I had subscribed to a few mags immediately after receiving the email. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.
At 3 cents a mile, I thought was not bad. What would be a good deal for miles? any suggestions? Thank you all for responding. |
