one MILLION posts!
|
FWIW, Randy had actually tipped us off a bit earlier! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Excellent! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I can't help wondering, though, what Randy would have written if the millionth post had been the next entry in Omni's Word Association thread, or worse yet someone bashing someone else for something equally irrelevant. Statistically, it's probably a good thing that most of the posts on these boards tend to be helpful. |
Like a proud parent i probably would have stayed with whatever post it was since we had many around here keeping track since yesterday. We kept it low profile since we did not want people to play with post counts. While we had a lot of ideas of promoting this, we realize that the success of FlyerTalk is in the next post that someone makes. You all share in this and I still rememberthe one shining moment when Catman, Rudi and NJDavid presented the official FlyerTalk URL to me at the PIP (PremEx assisting). That really started it all.....

Randy, many congrats and much success for the future. I'm sure you've found Flyertalk to be like a a bad cousin sleeping on your sofa - no matter how hard you try you can't get him to behave, and no matter how much he misbehaves, you can't find it in your heart to kick him out. Frankly, only 426,347 posts were worthwhile, the rest were garbage and TOS violations...and 134,202 posts were thrown out in the value-posting process. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by NJDavid (edited 06-06-2002).] |
Thanks for the credit Randy, but in all fairness, although I was there at the PIP and I may have said "That's a great idea" or something when the thought of protecting the domain name came up, it's really NJDavid, Rudi and Catman that did the deed.
Here they are signing over the domain name to you and your company. Congrats to everyone past and present that made this board the place it is...NJAFIBB! N = Not! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

YIKES! It's almost three years since the PIP!
(November, 1999!) I had HAIR THEN! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif But Rudi and NJDavid still look so young, three years later! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif PRemEx, maybe Randy thought you were part of the domain gift because you did SO MUCH putting the PIP together (with Rudi and Tropical Flyer especially, and other friends!) Congrats Randy and Raif on this milestone! |
Yes, I consider PremEx one of the very close immediate family of FlyerTalk and it seems only natural to include him......
|
Catman, with less than a month to the big four-o, one thing I am very much NOT is young.
But I do agree that Rudi is ageless. |
Congratulations to the entire crew that keeps FlyerTalk running smooth!
|
Kudos to Randy, his crew and everyone in this great community; what wonderful neighbors I have.
|
Lang lebe Flyertalk (and Randy)!
a (side-car) toast! |
doc has 3% of them. Rudi has 1.25%. I'm not even 0.2%.
And to think, I used to be an FT Evangelist. |
Congrats to a great forum and those responsible!
|
Congratulations Randy!!!!!
|
This is great news, indeed. Thank you Randy for keeping it going that long.
|
Thank you, Randy. This board has been a real help; thanks in part to what I've learned here, air and hotel for my upcoming honeymoon were "free."
Mike PS. Note that doc accounts for >3% of those posts. |
FlyerTalk has been and is a wonderful and enriching part of my life.
When I started posting, planning for PIP was going on strong, and when the PIP happened it meant that my new friends were not posting and the board was very quiet. Then I knew I had found a happy home! (My wife still thinks I spend far too much time on FlyerTalk.) |
FlyerTalk is a wonderful service. Thanks, Randy and team!

So Ralf gets a prize... what do the rest of us who contributed get? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Congratulations on the 1,000,000. I wish I could have a mile for every post. FewMiles.. ------------------ [ FlyerTalkers' Resources on the Web ] [ Unofficial Guide to AAdvantage ] [ Unofficial oneworld Info Desk ] |
An outstanding achievement, and thanks to Randy and crew for the fine resource. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

After months of "lurking" and enjoying thousands of the posts, it was worth it to finally register just to say thanks!

it would be very 'frustrating' if nobody would read all these posts.
So a big thank you (and welcome) also to all FlyerTalk readers and lurkers! |
