Yes. CX may through-check your luggage from HKG to HEL. You don't have to see your bags till you arrive on AY.

As FINLAND is not part of the Schengan Treaty countries, you will not be clearing immigration/customs in France. After you arrivei in Paris, follow the signs to TRANSFERS . 1 floor down from ARRIVALS. There you will take a connecting bus to the respective terminals.

Don't know if FINNAIR uses their own lounge or codeshares it with AIRFRANCE. If it is the latter, you may not be allowed in if you're not taking J class on AY.

Actually, since January 1st 2002 Finland is part of the Schengen countries ( along with Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden) so normally you should be clearing immigration at CDG

PS. Finnair uses the "Salon l'Espace" lounge located in Terminal 2 D, mezzanine floor, stairs opposite of check-in area 8.

thanks guy.

i was worried that it'd be like connecting flights at american airports - customs, drag luggage to other terminal and checkin again.

just found this from the cx website
http://www.cathaypacific.com/intl/news/2nd/
"If you are departing from a French provincial airport or another European airport, and transiting through Paris CDG airport to connect onto CX260 Paris-Hong Kong, you are advised to check in your baggage to Paris CDG, and then to check it in again on to CX260, due to frequent delays in sorting transit baggage at the airport. The same applies to passengers flying on CX261 Hong Kong–Paris and beyond: baggage should be retrieved at Paris CDG and rechecked onto the connecting flight to avoid baggage delay."

any thoughts? would love to avoid the hassle of checking bags to CDG and re checking again - but would love even more to arrive at HEL with bag intact.
