Miles for using gotoday.com for foreign travel?

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone here has had success in earning miles with www.gotoday.com bookings? I've asked a couple of FTer's personally, but now I'm opening it up to a FT consensus. The prices look good, but I don't want to head over the pond without miles. Unlike Europe Express, they will let me choose my airline and flights ahead of time. I just want to be sure that I get miles for the trip.

If anyone has any information, I would appreciate it.

Safe travels in 07..........

It's going to be wholly dependent on the fare class the tickets book into, and whether that fare class earns miles or not. I'd particularly be wary of booking anything on AA from this (or any similar) site before knowing the booking code, given the prohibitions on international O and transatlantic Q fares, but other airlines may or may not have similar restrictions.

I believe that the only assurance you'll get is by contacting them directly, as they're the only ones who have the information you need to determine whether miles are earned or not.

The market I'm looking at actually doesn't have AA as an option. My choices are UA, CO, DL, and US. I was thinking of buyin on UA because of the e+ since upgrading these fares won't happen unless there's an oversell. Honestly, knowing about the AA restrictions through site59, I likely wouldn't book them anyway. Too risky as you said.

According to the FAQ's at gotoday,, the tickets generally do not earn miles. However, student universe also has that same disclaimer for UA and US, and I've earned miles with both these carriers despite these warnings. I've also earned miles with both carriers on previous fares purchased with STA travel. Student tickets are usually wholesale, so I'd think the same rules would apply.

That being said, I just wanted to open up the question here to get others' experiences.

I've used them twice (to CDG in 04 and 05), both trips on UA, no problems upgrading when eligible or getting miles.

Similar experience with www.gate1travel.com, which I actually prefer because the booking classes are more transparent.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into that one as well. =)
