These are all from recent postings in the Hilton forum, where Adam Burke and his staff from HHonors have surely seen them.

Thanks dhacker for demistifying this.
Had I had sense enough to do a search, I too, may have left the post up (after the fact) and prevented the onslaught of emails which followed my pull-out.

I hear enough of this at home from my wife.

This was not meant to "tease", surely not.(stop calling me shirley). Just a knee-jerk and subsequent knee-jerk reactions which ended up...neutral.

FYI, this (closely resembles what I originally posted)...I feel cleansed http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Hilton gives away gold to anybody who wants it. There are several forums over in the Hilton area with the program numbers.

I fail to see how giving away gold will dilute the program. The bottles of water and six oreos you get at hampton for being Gold will certainly have them out of business in no time.

It will only encourage people to use the chain, and right now getting people into your <<insert name of airline, hotel, car rental agency here>> is necessary for survivial.

Origin code AAGU did not work.Another CSR siad needed multiple stays to get Gold.
Tried again with different CSR AND code AAGE-Worked instantly

Thanks

Give me a break. As has been debated many times before, sharing information like this about comped status is what FlyerTalk is all about. If you don't like it, take it up with HHonors for offering the promo and not restricting eligibilty. New Golds won't dilute the program much unless these people actually have a lot of stays at Hilton. In which case, they deserve the perks and Hilton benefits from exactly the increase in bookings that they were hoping for. Everyone wins. Get over it.

MONACO00, please repost the information so more FTers can benefit.

Amen.

Thanks for the added bonus. Eventhough I was only 1 stay away, it's nice to get the early X-mas gift. 2 minutes was all it took.

Hi all - I'm new to this forum.

I called Hilton twice and tried both codes. Both times the customer representative told me my account would NOT be instantly upgraded and that I'd need to fulfil the 4-stays requirement. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Probably not, their promotions seem to be at the whim of who you speak with if you get instant gold or not. I have never gotten instant gold using codes that others have and gotten it, there was a thread last year about having to call back over and over again to get it.

If it's four stays that isn't any big deal at all, just hold out for the 4th stay. If you aren't planning on the four stays, then being Gold idn't that much of a deal anyways.

You can call back and try again, but sometimes it's easier just to do the stays.

How long is this topic going to remain in MilesBuzz? It "belongs" in Hilton, if at all.

The poster knew it did not belong here, but posted it anyway. Many others have added there beliefs of the value of this post.

Skip over it if you don't like it, posting to it only brings it back to the top so it will live that much longer.
