BA still affiliated with AA?
Hi: I know I'm not too knowledgable, but if I transfer DC point to BA for use on an AA flight, is BA still partnered with AA? Sorry if this is the wrong thread. didn't know which to use.

Yes you can.

Marysunshine Yes, BA is a member of the oneworld alliance of which AA is also a member. You may use your BA miles on any AA flight except for transatlantic legs.
Also, since you asked, the best place to post this type of thing in the future would prolly be the AA forum, but don't worry (I get confused too since there are so many fora). ------------------ I Love New York -- Viva Espaņa |

I recently flew BA between Heathrow and Copenhagen. My miles were promptly posted.

I just want to thank everyone on this board. There have been so many things I have learned and advantages I've become knowlegable about due to the information posted here. I have tried to reciprocate by giving away things that have been requested on the coupon board, but it's not enough, so here's a GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE.

This link should give you the redempion mileage tables for redeeming BA miles for AA award travel:
https://www.britishairways.com/execc...american.shtml Three different times in the past I have made redemptions of 35K BA miles for a free AA roundtrip between the continental US and Hawaii, have never had many problems doing so (I have never touched BA metal by the way, these were all miles gotten by transferring Diners Club points during the double points promos). Anyway maybe they have changed things by now but each time BA had to physically issue a PAPER ticket for these rewards on AA, perhaps now they have modernized things and they can be electronically ticketed?? |
This is funny because I've never flown BA either. We got the miles several years ago when the credit card gave lots of free miles for signing up and also via the DC transfer. I really appreciated the redemption board and put it in my favorites to keep. Thanks again. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
