A couple important newbie questions

Hi, I'm new here and need some questions answered so that I can take full advantage of the InsideFlyer promos.

1) Besides American, are there other airlines that grant lifetime FF status fairly easily (little actual flying required)?

2) When paying for coach and upgrading with miles, do you normally get mileage credit and/or Q-miles? (assuming your non-upgraded coach ticket qualifies)

3) For the Starwood/Inside Flyer promo, how long are starpoints good for before they expire? What if I stay there once a year?I'm thinking about keeping most of the starpoints in SPG and transfering them only when necessary.

1) Not that I know of.

2) You normally get mileage for your paid class of service, in this case coach.

you don't even have to stay to earn points. I often have lunch at the Atlantis Sheraton in Zürich and show my Starwood card to get the points credited. My Starwood points have no expiry date.

1) I don't know of any airline that does it "easier". AA gives you lifetime once you hit the miles-to-date number of 1,000,000. Delta had given some people an equivalent level, but since rescinded it (read the small print...subject to change at any time, etc.)

2) Per previous post, you'll get 100% Q-points on full Y or higher fares. 50% on discounted economy.

3) I know absolutely nothing about Starwood.
