DEN to HNL for Less Than $300

Couple the starwood subscriptions with the QG doubling, yields QG miles at less than 1 cent per mile. Booking this RT on AA takes 30,000 miles, hence less than $300.

Can't this same approach be used for effectively half priced (miles) award travel on American, and other QG partners?

Are you referring to QF - Qantas or Qualiflyer?

There do appear to be some great deals through Qualiflyer, assuming the award calculator is correct.

qualiflyer. I guess what has me very interested is not international travel, but the opportunity to leverage these deals for cheap travel within the US and to Hawaii on American.

I've been researching Qualiflyer and have found some great deals.

Hawaii does look particularly good in coach. If you maximize the Starwood 5k bonus and transfer before 6/15 to take advantage of the 2-1 *wood>Qualiflyer promo, you could fly from anywhere USA to HNL for $288.

For European travel, Qualiflyer also has kids awards at half price with some airlines.

Looking at the same thing. Have you found a list somewhere of which carriers/routes have the 50% off rates for kids? Or do you have to check each one manually?

It seems that it depends on the airline, not the destination based on this information on the Web site:

Family Tickets for children aged 2 - 11 are only available for travel on Qualiflyer airlines (excluding Turkish Airlines).

The Qualiflyer airlines are:
