Another Million Mile Contest - UAL

Haven't seen this one posted yet. Here's another million mile contest I ran across this morning - one million UAL miles:

http://www.ual.com/site/primary/1,10017,1026,00.html#

Biggest drawback is that it's a daily entry contest - runs through 6/30/02. On the plus side, no states are excluded. It's also open to residents of Argentina, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United Kingdom. You "must be enrolled in the United Airlines Mileage Plus Program in order to receive the United Airlines Mileage Plus Miles."

Good luck!

Sorry - forgot to add this: if you're not from the US, you'll need to enter through this link:

Only one prize - what are the odds of winning?

Probably close to the same as getting hit by lightning while on my way to cashing in the winning Powerball ticket. But I entered it anyway.

bj-21: here's a link for contests open to Canadian residents:

A couple of these are Canada-only. But I didn't see any with FF mile prizes. Sorry.

Just dreaming here...I note that you have a choice of 1,000,000 points or US$25,000. Which would you choose?

kpc: Take the money. Use what's left after taxes to purchase revenue tickets on AA. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

i wonder IRS consider miles won from a contest as a taxable event.

If so, do they value 1MM as worth 25K or 20K in cash?

I thought it was 2 cents for every 1 mile.
