China Eastern Affiliations?
 

We're in the process of signing up on a China tour package and was told that we would be flying on China Eastern Airlines. Are they affiliated with any program that I can earn mileage on (aside from Golden Swallow Club)?

They do have a codeshare agreement with AA, (unfortunately it has to be AA ticketed flight, ours will not.) Please help.

AFIK, it's Golden Swallow or bust. (BTW, MU's website has made great progress over the last year!) You might want to look into pricing your tour w/out air and booking independently. Most TAs that deal with MU can also get comparable deals on CA, which earn NW miles. Personally, I'd pay the extra hundred bucks to fly UA or NW though.

Fares to mainland China on UA are fairly low -- I recall around $500 - $600... so it may be smartest to buy the air separately. The miles alone are worth a few hundred.
