FF miles on a US carrier flying with Air India?
I need to travel NYC>LHR and Air India has the lowest fare by 20%. However, as far as I can tell, I cannot have the miles post to any domestic airline. Can anyone verify this for me so I can rule it out of consideration?
Thank you. |
Not anymore, but I used to get TW miles 10-15 yrs ago when I was in college. I used to take this flight frequently (in Y) and enjoyed it...FAs in saris and fairly decent Indian food....an interesting switch from typical US carriers. I haven't flown AI in 10 yrs, so I don't know what it's like now.

This airline is dying, and the entire system is very customer unfriendly. I would compare it to Aeroflot in the 80's. It will be a happy day when someone put this airline out of its misery. |
I just love the Indian food on AI and the Indian movies it shows..

The service is excellent IN THE AIR compared to on the ground. The ground staff has poor customer service skills and don't take care of their customers. First and Business class on Air India is excellent and it is comparable to other U.S and European airlines. The lounge at LHR is excellent. That's my 2 cents.

I've flown close to 2 million miles on AI over the last 25 yrs and I agree the Inflight Service is superior to pretty much any other airline. Ground handling does leave a lot to be desired, primarily because only a handful of stations are actually staffed by AI personnel and the rest by contract.

Although the initial question was on AI's US frequent flyer partners (I can assume that AA did not take over TWA's relationship with AI?), since Air France was mentioned, I would also be interested in other foreign airlines having a FF partnership with AI?
