So what if a post is not in the right place? If we don't like it we will not respond and the thread will close itself...</font> First, "censorship," imo, is simply not a category that applies here. "Censorship" is most often what a government may try to do, and it's why we have constitutional protections in the United States against prior restraint, e.g. But in someone's private home, or website, or business establishment, you can indeed say exactly what are the rules about what can be said and where and how. You or I could start a bulletin board which demands that every post have the word "orange" in it and delte any than don't. This is not "censorship," it's just idiosyncratic. Same here. This is Randy Petersen's site and so his rules apply. To apply the concept of "censorship" is just misplaced, imo. Second, if you take your "So what if a post is not in the right place" argument to its extreme, then there is no reason whatsoever to have any categories at all. Just one big board. But once the owner has decided that the board indeed needs categories, those categories need to have some meaning. |

What is "TAROM" that Punki mentioned?

There are a number of reasons in the FT TOS to close this posting, these two work:
-Topic-starting posts that are placed in an inappropriate forum. When determining in which forum to place a topic-starting post, pay close attention to the forum description. -We invite and encourage a healthy exchange of opinions. If you disagree with an opinion or idea expressed by another member, by all means, challenge the opinion or idea - not the person. Personal attacks on individuals, insults and "flaming" will not be tolerated and will be removed. You may challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Do not retaliate or respond in any way to a personal attack that you perceive to be directed at yourself or another FlyerTalk member. All to often, when an initial attack is levied, others join the fray and instead of becoming part of the solution, they become part of the problem. If you feel that you have been the recipient of a personal attack, contact a TalkAssist volunteer immediately. P.S. to Diane: Tarom is a board here on FT Miles. It is the Romainian national airline, and certain FT member use that board area for "alternative" purposes http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif. Take a look, it's pretty amusing. ------------------ Craig6z Buzz & United Moderator [email protected] [This message has been edited by Moderator2 (edited 03-03-2002).] |
