Heavy handed moderators, do we need them?

The only place for moderators is to stop flaming and posts that are not in good taste. AND commercial posts that are specified in TOS.

Enough treating us like children. Enough with the closing and moving posts! (Although with Omni gone, the choices of where to move them is limited)

Discussion of the latest frequent flyer buzz...

Where else can we discuss Randy closing his site? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/006510.html

What is wrong with letting posters decide whether or not to respond? If we respond, we are interested... if we are not interested in discussing an issue we won't!

I agree.

pynchonesque Feb 27, 2002 7:31 pm

Anyone wanna bet what'll happen to this thread?

wigstheone Feb 27, 2002 7:45 pm

I humbly disagree. MilesBuzz has become such a dumping ground that moderation seems called for, and required.

ranles Feb 27, 2002 8:10 pm

I disagree. I believe that the laziness or ignorance of some who fail to even try to put posts in the correct forums wastes a lot of valuable time of visitors to FT. It also starts an avalanche of such posts.

It is like litter. Once it starts, it is really had to stop.

It is not my site, so I do not make the rules. The owner of the site has made some decisions. I agree with them, but feel not enough is being done. You seem to disagree and feel too much is being done. It is good that we had this talk even if it appears to be on the wrong forum.

PremEx Feb 27, 2002 9:33 pm

I disagree was well. I'm all for moderating, especially for putting misplaced threads in the proper catagory.

Like this one.

You might try the Suggestions Forum next time for this sort of post, IMHO.

MagMile Feb 27, 2002 9:42 pm

Also disagree. Otherwise, we might as well just have one big forum.

Dorian Feb 27, 2002 9:44 pm

I disagree....keep stuff where it belongs....always been a huge proponent of moderation.

IMHO, the need for moderators is very clear at this point.

R&R Feb 27, 2002 11:41 pm

This string sure lives up to being useless.

Moderator, Please get it outa here!

Moderator2 Feb 28, 2002 6:07 am

Mikey you are correct, this will be moved in keeping with recent FT actions throughout the bulletin board. Suggestions is a good place to continue it.
