JAL Award Ticket Help
 

First of all, I am posting this here because it involves more than one FF program. If it should be somewhere else, I apologize; please feel free to move it.

I am trying to figure out a way to get a roundtrip domestic (HND-ITM) award ticket on JL. This would be very simple, except I don't actually have any miles with JL.

I am hoping to be able to somehow use AMEX Membership Rewards points for the ticket, but cannot figure out how to go about doing this, or if it is even possible. In fact, I cannot even find a list of frequent flyer programs that could be used to get an award ticket on JL.

I know I could get this ticket on NH instead, but a friend will be travelling on JL and I would ideally like to be able to be on the same flight.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

AA, CX will get u an JL award

Cost is 20K Aadvantage miles for economy (35K for business). Using JAL miles it is 15K economy, 19K business.

JAL no longer has a Business class within Japan. It's called "Class J", which is closer to a Premium Economy than it is to Business class.

I use AA miles on JAL all the time.
