Your request is way out of line. In fact, getting anything is a good deal. You did get there afterall.
Wow - most flyers on this board have had much longer than 3 hour delays and gotten nothing. Gee whiz. |

Wow. It is beneficial for us to read what the airlines have to deal with every day.

He got to his destination, hungry and angry, but really only a short while later than he should have if not for the delay. That said, rudeness by company employees is never called-for or a good thing, but I've found that you pretty much get back what you give - if you were flowery and overly pleasant to them, they would have no choice but to be pleasant right back to you! But, they still wouldn't give you the answer you were looking for... In sum - dude, if you got comped PLT and two first class tickets because you missed a flight, I'd be angry at AA, not you. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
FYI-> they close the door 10 to 20 minutes prior so the pilots and flight crew can finish weight and balance and still push back on time.....

So let me get this right. You V-O-L-U-N-T-A-R-I-L-Y left to make a phone call. And you are complaining because that resulted in you missing the plane?
Give me a break, dude. If the airline screwed up, that'd be one thing. But they didn't. You did. Stop trying to pin the blame on them. Now, as for this alleged rudeness, I'm sure that you probably got a little vocal and loud, didn't you? Maybe even screamed and cursed at the gate agent? Why do I say this? Because the compensation you're asking for is just plain ludicrous. |
Geez, I hate to beat a dead horse, but sometimes it can be ... well ... fun! You have to be crazy to think this is reasonable compensation. Say that you value the FC tickets at $10,000, how does your time become worth $5000 or $3333 an hour? Did you miss an important business meeting? Lose out on a contract that you would have earned thousands of dollars in commissions on? No, you got to your friend's place a few hours later. You blew it by being ridiculous. It would serve you right if you get nothing now (and, since TWA is now out of business, that seems the likely prospect).

You might as well have asked for world peace. If I were TWA, I would have again offered you the original compensation. If you refused, I would have withdrawn the offer and considered the matter closed. Your best bet is to drop the issue becuase you will be wasting your time. I would be extremely surprised if AA gave you anything, particularly if your demands are documented. |
