AC does offer "compensation for delay" miles...
 

I was on an AC flight from EWR to YYZ on Dec 14 which was delayed by 5 hours--departure scheduled at 7, bumped to midnight.

Anyway, I received a letter from AC about a week ago apologizing for the delay, noting that it was weather related.

Then they, as a peace offering (saying they value my business), gave me a 3,000 Mile bonus (to be applied in Feb.). I almost fell off my chair.

Anyone have a similar experience??
