A while ago, I remember going to a site in which you could opt out of spam being marketed to you. I just realized I probably average no more than one spam in my mailbox per week.

I never thought I would buy an air ticket from Orbitz (since I always like the booking bonus on the air sites). But this last booking involved a routing that absolutely would not show up on the nwa.com website. The return flight is entirely on CO metal, and it would show up on Orbitz but not nwa so I finally just booked it on Orbitz.

I have been looking for some time a utility that would be effective against those dratted ads.
I finally found this recommended from CNET. See this for info only.... http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0...-4408834.html] But download (V3) from here. http://www.webwasher.com/en/products/wwash/index.htm] Its about 1MB -very effective and makes the browser run faster. Does NOT contain any Trojans or Spy ware. (I ran it thru Ad-Aware 5 and its clean) Far more effective than Opt out - you have control. Oh, and its free to non commercial users. Edited to get URL's to work. [This message has been edited by RDY3238 (edited 01-16-2002).] |
The Orbitz ones I can deal with since they remind me of miles ...
