You have a good point, Seth. I tried that with a DL poster (not Lex Passenger), and I just gave up. This person is going to continue flying DL and ASA and post absolutely nothing but negative opinions. Fine. Vent indefinitely if that makes you feel better. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Here's my answer. The company is making me. I have no choice. AA is no longer on the approved list, and every flight reminds why I dislike UA so much. I have to suck it up if I want to stay employed.

Those who do nothing but complain here on FT (or alternatively in real life) quickly gain a reputation for being whiners and will ultimately not get much respect. People will judge for themselves.

Well let's see. IF you are from DTW or DFW then you will have very limited choices if you don't fly AA or NW.

Seth:
the answer is simple:
I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE GOING NON-STOP.
I still have to go to work, though.

I asked in a letter to AA to come in and introduce competition to this market. that will get UA to put some more thought in their operations and pricing here. AA answered, thank you, "we are always evaluating new markets".
I had a discussion on the subjext with my Congressman. Being on the House transportation committee, he is at least aware of my concerns. (His pet peeve is NWA).

Seth....

Come over to the Air Canada board and read some of the posts there.

We are a very upset bunch and a few of us...myself included, are probably switching allegiances next year. I for one am very close to going to UAL...but am waiting to see what theirs and AC's 2002 FF program will be like before I move.

If we have a choice....we will take it. I truly feel sorry for those who do not.

Me complain about the airline I fly,......Naaahhh. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

stewlevine Jan 4, 2002 8:34 am

Come on - we all know that the only good airline is one that we don't have to fly; or that we only fly internationally, in first class, with no luggage.

Why live in a city you don't like?
Why work at a job you don't like?

Sometimes you have to do things you dont like. Sometimes you are lucky enough to be able to change them.

The less time a person spends on an airplane, the less he has to deal with the good and the bad of the airlines.

If I had my choice, PI for all my flights!

mdtony Jan 4, 2002 1:46 pm

Because they're the only ones who serve your particular market. Not everyone lives in places like Chicago or LA or DC where you've got a hell of a lot of choices. If UAL pisses me off, I can just go with USAirways here, but if you're in Detroit, you don't have that choice.

Love and hate are pretty close to each other... I love my airline BA but am pretty good in complaining about them http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Sure you do. All major carriers fly into DTW. One may have to make a connection, but it may be worth it to some people.

Agreed Seth...there are alternatives if one wants to go out of the way. If I hated my airline that much...I WOULD go out of my way not to fly them. After all...that is what this thread is all about...hating your airline. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

If you hate an airline, change to another one and quit the non-stop complaining. I feel FT is a great asset to the FF community. Using it as a forum to fulfill someone's personal vendetta against a particular airline seems like a waste of good computer space.
I thought this was what the thread was about - not hating airlines, but rather complaining about them to such an extent that, like the boy who'd cried wolf, the complaints lost their validity due to the perceived "vendetta" on the part of the poster.

We all know who those people are who seem to have a vendetta, and take most of their complaints with a grain of salt. I usually follow that with a beer chaser!

A valid complaint, or compliment for that matter, will stand (or fall) on it's own merit regardless of who presented it.
