the last time i looked, j was $7-8k for dfw-mel w/around 18k mi's, which irrc is about the cost of an around the world j fare. you should be able to route the rtw for more mi's and see a few places if you have the time...
however, you don't provide enough info to get a specific answer... what are the end point cities.....what alliance or airlime are you looking for.... good luck.... |
I'll be flying from one of the DC area airports. I can fly from any airline. Ideally, I would like to fly on one where I could maximize my mileage due to special offers, etc. After my trip I plan to use my miles for travel to Europe and Asia.
Thanks! -holla |
what airline are you using to qatar?....with all the j class trips, surely you have status somewhere.....
it seems that you should concentrate your mi's.... |

Thanks -holla Given a pair of airports, it will show you all bonus miles promotions. For example, here are the promotions from Washington to Sydney: http://www.milemaven.com/offers/flight/route/WAS/SYD/ |
Depending on your specific destination, you can add quite a few miles by connecting at NRT and break up your trip midway as well with a chance to walk around a bit. If you're OK with oneWorld miles, Japan Airlines, while not (yet) a oneWorld member, code-shares many of its flights to Australia with AA and/or Qantas.

I recently flew Business Class on Qantas and earned approx. 36K miles and got Platinum status by doing a platinum challenge with AA (do a search on the AA forum to get more details on how the program works).

Korean
I believe KA from IAD connecting in ICN will get you 24244 DL, CO or NW MQM in coach and 29328 in C (that's status with one trip).
|
Looks like I'll be traveling to from DC to LA via AA (Economy), and then LA to SYD via Qantas. (Business class) I'm guessing its best to register with AAdvantage and do the platinum challenge? My goal is to accumulate as many miles as possible, Im not too concerned with status for AA.

sign up for the challange....you should make it on the outbound and get the double mi's for la-oz and the rest of the itin....also, vector thru ord both ways for more mi's...
