United Easy Check-in and standby travel?
 

Hi all!

I'm confirmed on UAL's last ORD-LGA flight one night this week, and, since I prefer to travel earlier rather than later, I often book the latest flight of the day to be safe and then check in on any earlier flight that day with availability. In the past, I've never tried using the "Easy Check-in" computers, but it seems that UAL gives 500 bonus FF miles every time you check in with the Easy Check-in computer. Is there any way for me to check in with the computer, take an earlier flight, and get the 500 bonus miles, without paying a change fee on my ticket?
