I've allways wondered about the logic in this. I fly trans altlantic at least three times per year on UA and have NEVER seen or been in a full bz class ... even when coach is packed. Why fly those empty seats and make loyal customers suffer in the back for not having a worthy fare for upgrade?

The lowest transatlantic upgradeable (with miles) fare is B-class and they usually run $1,200 or more per roundtrip. And those fares will still cost you 20k each way to upgrade. Full fare coach ($2,000+) and full fare business class fares can be upgraded for 10k each way. </font> |

AA really knows the score. You can upgrade any published fare on AA. It's a shame DL's bean-counting management doesn't understand this. </font> |
