Club membership suggestion
I know that some airlines share club rooms with each other under certain conditions. If I were to join a club, which one should I join? My home airport is RDU, and I have several flights in and through BNA (Nashville), MCO (Orlando), IAD (Washington Dulles), and ATL (Atlanta). Any advice?

Well Mr. Itchie http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, I can tell you that Delta has clubs in Nashville (that I've never been to), Orlando (which is an absolutely magnificent facility), and Atlanta (Many clubs), but not Dulles, but most importantly I would think, they do have one in Raleigh Durham also (that I have not been to).
Your choice of clubs should really be driven by your primary airline of choice. If Delta is going to be your airline of choice, then you'll definitely want to go with them. One of the big advantages of having a membership is going to be the staff's ability to help you out of bad situations (cancellations and delays). |
Also, if you decide on Northwest and/or Continental, you will probably want to consider getting an AMEX Platinum Card (If you are eligible, 10 year AMEX member or $5000 in charges in the past year and member for at least a year). The card includes access to any Northwest or Continental lounge when flying that airline.
Also note, that I believe most clubs have rules that only allow you to use the clubs when you are traveling that particularly airline on that particular day, though I have not heard of many instances of those rules actually being enforced. |
