how do I find out about direct flights?

I am planning a trip using awards. I would like to spend time on the ground rather than in the air. so my question is:

is there a way I could find where Delta/NWA/AA has direct flight to out of LAX (or Ontario), with no stops.

I would think this is a popular question but has found nothing on searches.

thanks

I know with AA's electronic timetable, you can easily determine directs to and from a given airport.

I haven't played with Delta's or the others long enough to know if the same functionality is there, but I would start with the timetables.

Be very careful with the term "direct". Airlines use that term to mean the flight number does not change between start and final destination. Direct does not imply "non-stop".

As suggested, look at AA's on-line timetable and look at the flight details as they will show if there is a stop-over on the direct flight.

I've downloaded several of the airlines Electronic Timetables. I've found them very useful and I try to update them monthly. These electronic timetables are very helpful and user friendly. The most useful feature, IMHO is being able to select and view the various Nonstop, Direct, 1-Stop and More valid routings! Not all the airlines have electronic versions available or have identical features. NM is very correct regarding the term, "direct."

I use itasoftware.com for this purpose. The flight finder shows a graphical representation of every carrier's every way to get from point "a" to point "b". I'm not connected with this site in anyway...just a very, very happy user.

with ontario, almost any airline that goes out of there will take you to one or more hubs for that airline. lax might be a better bet for more destinations with no stops or layovers

thanks. where can I find the flight finder, I could not see that on their web site.

I tried downloading 2 of the electronic timetable. the problem is that it requires me to pick a destination city, then it will check for direct flight. this will take forever, since Delta lists over 100 cities.

What I am looking for is exactly the opposit, I want to choose direct flight first, see which city I can fly non-stop to.

out of Ontario, I actually found direct flight to Atlanta by DL.

I would like to have more help on this, thanks.

sorry, I meant "Flight Chooser". Create a login for yourself, then plan a trip and view results using "Flight chooser". It's the best.
