internet ticketing ex-asia

I spent a considerable amount of time online yesterday trying to buy a ticket from PEK to SFO for next week. The problem is that none of the major internet travel companies are willing to actually sell me a ticket.

Here are the particulars of my situation. I want to fly KE from PEK to SEL, connecting to SQ from SEL to SFO in business class. Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, Flychina, and ITN all offer this routing for $1657, but the going rate here (in HK) is closer to $2500. If I purchase SEL-SFO on the SQ website (they won't sell me a PEK-SEL ticket), I can do the whole thing for $1850, but I'm bothered that I can't close the gap.

Any ideas (online and offline) would be greatly appreciated.

Call SQ to make the reservation and ask to have it "priced as if it is sold and ticketed in PEK" and arrange to pick up the ticket in PEK.

Thanks for the advice, Daniel. Unfortunately, I was too busy this weekend to check FT, so I ended up forking over the extra $200.

On the bright side, my trip went pretty smoothly. I highly recommend the SEL connection as a means to get from PEK to SFO -- much more convenient than NRT. However, I'm not sure you can connect in SEL westbound from SQ017. As another aside, anyone flying out of PEK in the near future might be interested to know that it took about an hour (and much longer for passive persons) to get through the checkin process this morning, but most of the flights opted to wait for the latecomers.
