I subscribe and have for several years - since it was black and white and basically photocopied!

Anyway, it's a great way to support an individual/organisation that has promoted the interest of Frequent Flyers for years.

I also have their insurance against airlines going broke and my miles vanishing!

I subscribe, too.

I originally got a "comped" subscription as a "door prize" at the PiP for having had the longest-in-elapsed-time trip to Hawaii (even though thanks to the International Date Line I arrived before I departed), and liked it so much that when the freebee ran out, I subscribed.

I now subscribe after reading this thread. I'll be glad to give it a year's try.

I clicked on the link to subscribe, for the same reasons as above, and see this message:

U.S. Address/12 issues $36.00 USD

Marysunshine. 1200 Starpoints is worth MORE than 1200 airline miles if you do the transfer of Star 20K = 25K Miles or whatever their usual transfer deal is.

The Starwood promotion is only available to US residents, but if you use the link below you can subscribe to InsideFlyer and get ClickMiles. Happy Reading!

I subscribe to the print edition of InsideFlyer magazine as a small token of my appreciation and to show my support of this fine FlyerTalk Bulletin Board. Thank you Randy and Crew. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I also subscribe, partly to show support for Randy and partly because after reading off of a screen all day long it feels downright luxurious to read something I enjoy off of real paper.

I was just wondering if there were any new promotions for subscriptions? Anyone see anything?

Dudemon Nov 11, 2001 3:08 pm

I subscribe but I haven't had an issue delivered since Sept 11.

I enjoy reading it while flying & I have found information in the mag that I missed online.

You received an issue in September? Was it the September issue?--or the August issue? I was told that no hardcopy version of the September issue was ever mailed.

I also subscribe. Randy and his team have been of great help to my mileage balances over the past 10+ years, so it is only fair to help compensate him for his efforts. Plus it is included in the AwardGuard membership (which I have also been paying for for at least five+ years due to my concern about my TWA mileage. Now according ot Forbes I also need to be concerned about my United and American balances.

Another reason: I believe that from time to time an airline or hotel company will rent the subscriber list and send out offers for complimentary temporary elite status. One of these can pay for the whole year's subscription.

Sometime in the 80s, there was an insert offering Premier status on United. It was May or June of that particular year. The deal was to fly 10,000 miles withing a given amount of time, and you would be Premier for the rest of the year. I decided to go for it and have been Premier or Premier Exec every year since. The promotion definitely got me hooked! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Regarding inside Flyer, I was one of the very first subscribers going way back. But what puzzles me is that I never receive renewal notices. Instead, the monthly issues just stop coming and then I have to call and complain. Oh well.
