Another CLUELESS thread
Never cease to be amazed ...
Chatting yesterday with a fellow who'd just 'discovered' that he could gift tickets to his kids. Turns out he's got a pile of 'plastic-points', & is (well, *was*) under the impression that letting the card-company book his travel is a 'good deal'. Y'all know the story: has no FFP affiliations & takes whatever they hand him. (And, no surprise, isn't entirely sure who 'they' are !) The concept of churning tickets through a cash-back card completely blew his mind. :D So, now begins the 'salvage' work... ??: Anybody have any experience/success getting FF credit applied to these oddball 'award' tickets ?? (Fax-in afterwards, whatever.. ) Might well turn out to be my xmas gift to him. ^ /. |
A lot of FFPs have restrictions on the ability to claim retroactive credit - that is, miles for flights taken before one was a member of that FFP. You might wish to check with each carrier to see whether they even allow such credit to be retroactively applied and, if they do, how long they'll go back.
