Finally, something worthwhile from Points.com
I was looking at how gutted Points.com has become, in the attempt to transfer some orphan miles to worthwhile programs. In the process I came across some earn offers, similar to what eBay Anything points used to have. "Free" trials and an few merchants. Decided to try a couple and I was surprised when the miles posted within a week. 600 Asia Miles for Video Professor CD costing $5 and 819 Alaska miles for $3.95, for some anti winkle cream (definitely not something I plan on giving to the S.O.) As with any of these things, the spam filter appears to be working overtime and you do need to cancel after the "free" trial for some of these things. But then there were some things that were needed. New business cards for the S.O. and 495 Alaska miles for $4.95; 7 days of vitamins and 1165 Alaska miles for $6.95; 670 Alaska miles for face cream for $7.95; catnip scratcher for the cats and 967 Alaska miles for $12.
Log in and click the "Earn" tab at the top. Click any of the programs and it gives you a drop down menu of the participating mileage/hotel program. Too bad I can't transfer my miles in DL to Asia Miles. Oh well. |
Sounds like a lot of crAAp. :) But the deals appear to be a quick, and fairly cheap way, to top off some accounts!

Is it still possible to simply check conversion rates there?
I have a bunch of ebay points that I'd prefer turning into mileage. Also someone on fatwallet mentioned that untol 12/31 conversions are free - is it true? http://www.fatwallet.com/t/63/546179/ |
I keep getting emails saying its free till 12/31

Business Cards
Isn't VistaPrint the company that puts their name on the back of their free (plus $4.95 shipping) business cards? They look pretty tacky, so may be something you purchase only for the miles.

It appears that you can sign up for a one-month Gold membership and earn a 50% bonus on all "Earn" offers.
