Kabul is being bombed!! God Bless America! It's time to get even! Let's pray for the success of our weapons and soldiers in the fight against terrorism!

Bush just ended his speech to the nation with "May God Continue to Bless America."

Against darkened night skies, U.S. launches attacks against military targets in Kabul as well as terrorist training camps across the country. British forces are fighting with American troops. I get the impression from the speech that US and British troops will be sent on the ground.

Other allies including but not limited to Canada, Australia, and Germany have pledged to help in the fight. Both the NATO and ANZUS treaties were invoked in the days after the Sept 11 attacks.

For everyone who's been complaining about tighter security at airports and being inconvenienced when traveling, start getting used to it...

Perhaps that should be among the least of our concerns?

I guess my flight to Kabul is going to be delayed.

FYI, New York is now on a new unprecedented level of security, Omega-Plus.

Apparently, the British forces involved were submarine-launched cruise missiles.

We're obviously in complete agreement on the first point.

As far as the Omega-plus thing, what is the source of that?

Apparently, there were four levels of security at the NYPD. Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Omega. Alpha being normal, everyday OK. Gamma being a credible threat of an incident. Omega being an actual incident (i.e., WTC attacks). Omega-plus is "new."

Watching the Al Jazeera tape from Al Qaeda with Osama bin Laden and his fellow fanatic from Egypt. It was pre-recorded before the US attack on Afghanistan. Very chilling.

#1--the war started months and years ago. The war doesn't start when we go in to stop the evil-doers. The war started when the terrorists got started.

#2--This should NOT be about "getting even." It should be about making sure these terrorists can't do this again.

If we are going to beat terrorists, we need to start trying to think like terrorists. I would be very surprised to find that the 19 terrorists of the 11th actually carried their box-cutters through security. In our business we frequently carry box cutters, exacto knives, scissors and various and sundry other tools when we travel to set-up sites. Exactos and box knives accidentally left in carry-on baggage are almost always confiscated at security. I know that and the terrorists knew that too.

The WTC/Pentagon attacks were too carefully planned and far too important to the terrorists for them risk them on the possibility that they might be able to get their knives through security--or, for that matter, get themselves through security if they were caught with box knives on their way to the plane. I would be willing to bet that those knives were smuggled through security by other persons, most likely airline service or food service employees.

Now that we have officially gone to war, I am relatively certain that there will be retaliatory actions and I most sincerely believe that we need to direct our anti-terrorism assets wisely and carefully, if we are going to prevent further disasters.

Every asset that we waste trying to close the barn door after the horses are gone, is an asset that is not being intelligently directed to deter future attacks of terrorism on our country and around the world.

Since you seem to know such specific details then would you like to tell all of us how many WOMEN and CHILDREN exactly got killed in these attacks?

Or maybe you'd like to offer refuge in Scandinavia to all those unfortunate Islamic Fundamantalists and their families just because the Western World could no longer tolerate their terrorist activities?

I agree with the last poster. If we think all the "actions" at the airport are really helping us, they need to wake up.

I am flying again Monday (6 flights so far since 9/11). My only concern is the hassle, not the terrorists.
