Moderators- Where are you now?

Considering how many posts were reassigned prior to 9/11 I can't believe how many non-mileage-related items are allowed here. It's been three weeks! Can we get back to a semblance of normalcy here please. If necessary, create a safety topic. I, for one, would very much appreciate being able to come on and not have to browse through all of the other stuff.

Yes! I demand that THIS post be CLOSED DOWN at once. Moderators! This is really important. (you can leave the other threads open, however).

You know how to make me laugh cordelli, I think it started with that "truckertalk" comment.

Sometimes, but not all the time, a laugh is better than miles. Bonus miles and promotions excluded.

Just wanted to add a tangible link to miles so this wasn't moved. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Do ya really find it that tough to follow the discussion on the boards here? Geeze, I don't even have a degree and I find that I can scan every topic in which I have an interest twice a day. And I doubt if I spend more than a half hour out of the day, at work and at home reading Flyertalk.

All the crying and moaning about what should go where gives me a much bigger pain in the derriere than a misplaced post or thread.

All that said, maybe a long time lurker and rare poster ought to keep his opinions to himself. But there it is.

best,
the Apostrophe

Since the WTC tragedy, Moderator1 and I have taken a pretty laid back position about what is placed in Buzz. This was not some sort of overt action, but ultimately came about for a number of reasons. One, was people needed a place to record their feelings and comments re: WTC, and its overall affect on the travel industry. Another reason is both Moderator1 and I have been very busy with the non-FT part of our lives, and have not been able to spend as much time as needed to fully police this forum. It takes about ten hours a week for me to moderate this forum and United.

Finally, and possibly the biggest reason, the election of the Talk Board needed to be completed. The inducted members have to set some guidelines regarding appropriate content of Buzz. This is very important to both Moderators. As everyone is likely aware we have been criticized one heck of a lot the last three months, for making "subjective" decisions. It would be much easier for us if guidelines are published, by the user group representatives.

Moderation is still occurring, but maybe more subtle then some people would like to see.

Very well said, Craig, and I wholeheartedly concur! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for your "moderate" response. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I hope that everyone agrees that the moderators themselves are appreciated for their contribution, and that debate should surround the guidelines, not your work.

Sorry to bump this up, but I wanted to say thanks for your contributions.

Perhaps one or more of the moderators lost loved ones or friends or knew people who lost loved ones and are spending time with them. Let's give the moderators a break.

Maybe they're grieving. So many of us are. Perhaps they are spending time with their families. Moderating is hardly even worth mentioning in the same breath in my opinion.
