Wouldn't it be nice if we can add our photos in our profile? I guess if you have have a personal web page, you can just enter the link in the profile. But for people like me who doesn't have one, I don't have that option.

JAWS_II Dec 30, 1998 7:46 pm

This wold be interesting, but could get out of hand. Can't you see Catman's picture with Yaz & Eddie, or maybe even better, just Yaz & Eddie. Maybe baobab would have a tree, and the AusTxHiker would have a person wandering over the Texas Hill country. Even Ol' JAWs might post a picture of Great White Shark. And, we could all imagine *grin* what Beckles would do.

NJDavid Dec 31, 1998 1:29 am

I'd be happy to assist in the creation of an on-line Flyertalk "peanut gallery". I'm sure I can eek out some spare bandwidth somewhere.

Anyone who would want their picture posted with their handle on a new page of this type should e-mail it to me as an attachment. If enough people are interested, I'll put it all togethr and post it. (Beyond obscenity, I will not exert any editorial control.)

Lemme know if anyone's interested.....

Dave

kokonutz Dec 31, 1998 6:21 am

I say go for it. I'll send a jpg...

AusTXHiker Dec 31, 1998 10:56 am

Count me in! I'll send my JPG. Thanks for offering to start a photo gallery NJDavid.

MileageAddict Dec 31, 1998 12:19 pm

I'll send in a picture but as I have mentioned before, my wife and I have created a personal website that includes photos from our wedding in Maui and pics of my 8 month old baby in Calgary, Vail, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

This baby gets around...I had a gate agent in stiches when I had my son hand her my UA Prem Ex card in PHX last month. He'll have his own as soon as he turns 2.

I have my homepage link in my profile, but the whole address doesn't show up so I don't know if anyone can find my homepage.

My homepage with a picture is http://members.wbs.net/homepages/a/u/b/aubie34.html

Catman Jan 3, 1999 2:28 pm

I do not know how to set up a webpage, but if you want NJ David I can send a picture of myself from Maui (and one of Yaz and EDDIE -- watch it JAWS!) to you by snailmail if you want.

This will prove I am not a cat but a good
looking JERZEE BOY with very handsome and
star quality cats! CATMAN

I've uploaded the draft / prototype of our "Rogue's Gallery". I decided to use some of the free AOL space I abandoned many years ago (but still pay the grandfathered $4.95 per month for, just in case).

I'm still happy to do this, but I've only received two pictures via e-mail. If you don't have the ability to E-mail a Jpeg or Bitmap file, e-mail me, and I'll tell you how to "snail-mail" me with an old-fashioned photo.

On the other hand, let me know if this is a stupid idea that I should abandon before I further embarass myself.

Either way, check it out and let me know.

I need a wide-angle for pictures of me. Is that a problem?

NJDavid Jan 5, 1999 10:37 am

The web publisher is the ultimate gatekeeper. Just indicate taller, shorter, wider or thinner and I'll accomodate.

baobab Jan 5, 1999 10:37 am

I'm sure NJDavid could give you two spots - one for you, & one for your ego!!

Rudi Jan 5, 1999 10:40 am

as I hate looking into mirrors - sending you my photo would mean not clicking that homepage anymore ...

MileageAddict Jan 5, 1999 11:02 am

NJDavid,

I liked your webpage. Keep up the good work! Mmmm...mustard pretzels....

NJDavid Jan 11, 1999 11:28 am

Some updates:

I've added some more pictures that were sent. I've been asked to repost the URL (just cut and paste as below):

I've been asked to remind everyone that If you do not have a JPG file of your desired picture, you can e-mail me, and I'll give you instructions on sending me a snail-mail photograph that I will be happy to scan and return.

And finally, if you're too shy or embarrassed to send your picture, pick one you like from the internet and send it. I for one would kinda like the idea that one of my Flyertalk buddies looks so much like Meg Ryan it's amazing.

Dave

Catman Jan 11, 1999 1:59 pm

Dave, my pictures are in the mail. If you decide to post NO JOKES FOLKS!!! It's of myself and my "family."

OMNI MOVIE POSTING: Maybe Meg surfs on Flyertalk in her spare time! If she does, welcome aboard, and you were great in "YOu got Mail!" CATMAN

JAWS_II Jan 11, 1999 2:26 pm

I AM Meg Ryan!!!!!!

JAWS_II Jan 11, 1999 9:01 pm

I just KNEW baobab would post a "tree" picture. Now, we'll see about Catman & MF.

diver Jan 12, 1999 2:19 am

Well done, thanks. I will send a gif or jpg ASAP.

Merry Flyer Jan 12, 1999 5:40 am

MF will not be posting any pictures as he doesn't have the technology to produce a gif or a jpeg (?).

And even if he did it would be a picture at least 10 years old, from a time when he had a much smaller frame, no extra chins and a full head of hair.

NJDavid Jan 12, 1999 6:19 am

Be sure to check out the "interesting" submission I received last night.

Catman Jan 12, 1999 11:28 am

I have NJ Dave! I thought Michelle Pfeffer
was Catwoman?

And what would Meg's Husband say?

It's nice to be related to such a beautiful woman! Maybe we can invite her to the "Party in Paradise." OR Michelle. CATMAN

onefreeman Jan 12, 1999 5:46 pm

Both?! ;-} ow ow stop hitting me RaeBan!

Randy Petersen Jan 12, 1999 10:28 pm

Well, if you really want to know, I think you all might be just a bit crazy. Just kidding. I loved the idea of the pics. I went to the "Wanted" area and hope that it grows. When I get a few minutes next week, I'll contribute to your efforts and let's see if we can really all hang out as desperate for miles. Not sure who's the most creative, but the animation by Arturo is quite catchy. Thanks really to all of you for making FlyerTalk a wonderful and very creative place to hang out at. I've just OK'd spending a bit more money to upgrade the software driving this thing as I can tell we're driving it to the limit. We'll fix it over the next weeks or so (we're testing off line right now) and don't be surprised if we introduce some new elite level benefits for those of you who contribute the most to this area. If I do a special edition t-shirt for you all, what would you like it to say?????

timfucius Jan 13, 1999 12:23 am

Hello Randy!

How about:

"I flew, I surfed, I talked"

"Flyertalkers do it better"

"Flyertalk- Where cats, sharks and addicts hang out"

Just a few suggestions. Can't wait for the next version. Thanks for the great board Randy.

JAWS_II Jan 13, 1999 9:35 am

Echo to timchen's post.

We ALL appreciate the forum that WebFlyer has provided and look forward to the updates.

A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE G-R-E-A-T STATE OF TEXAS.!!!!!!

NJDavid Jan 13, 1999 10:08 am

how about t-shirts that say "Flyertalkers get miles while doing it"

TheAuditor Jan 13, 1999 10:54 am

T-shirt idea: I fly for/with upgrades.

kokonutz Jan 13, 1999 11:22 am

Flyertalk on webflyer.com:
While others are wondering about it, we're talking about it.

Flyertalk:
Refining the art of frequent flying into a science.

Flyertalk:
I flew, I collected my miles, I whined.

timfucius Jan 13, 1999 12:05 pm

Here is another one:

"Flyertalk- Therapy for Frequent Flyers"

BlondeBomber Jan 13, 1999 12:41 pm

I like that last one!

Rudi Jan 13, 1999 12:55 pm

Catman Jan 13, 1999 1:50 pm

Randy, thanks for reading and posting and for coming up with the idea for a Forum for Frequent Flyers free of the "dirt" and "trash" of so many chat rooms. Yes, some of us like me may be a little crazy, it's all that flying and work that has made us that way.

A lot of these postings are terrific. Mine might bring up copyright infringment laws:

"Just FLY IT!"

or "FlyerTalk members get elite the old fashioned way. They earn it."

Thanks for the upgrades to the system and giving us a place to enjoy our hobby! CATMAN

NJDavid Jan 14, 1999 7:54 am

I added some T-shirts. I was going to add some yellow snow, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I received a couple of e-mail's yesterday that said photos were attached, but none were. (I may have had a mail problem yesterday.) If you've sent a picture and you're not up there, please e-mail me again.

Thanks
