Interestingly, I have yet to see anything in the way of sale fares or mileage promos, yet.

They'll be coming right after they figure out how to squeeze "Food and beverages not included" in the fine print.

Why would the airlines drop fares or give away any special bonous? They all want to cry poverty. When someone offers you 24 Billion dollars cuz you are broke... Stay broke until you get it.

But while they are "staying broke", why not give good promos for Award travel. They get no revenue, but reduce futher liabilities - and at almost 0 cost as the flights are flying 50% (or less) full. Also builds goodwill for the frequent flyers and improves morale with more people in the seats (things seem to me more normal). To me, it is a no brainer.

And Announce it on this board and they will get fast and free advertising of the promo.
