"We are all Americans"
 

This was the title of the French paper, "Le Monde" yesterday.

I, among many other French, lost a friend, family or collegues in this tragedy. My whole office floor read with horror on the catastrophe as it unfolded on these boards, as all the news servers were overloaded.

We just want you to know that our hearts go out to you, fellow New York FTers.

Indeed, at this moment, we were all Americans.

I feel the same way and so does my family!

The feeling is the same here in Australia. It has been confirmed that significant numbers of our countrymen and women died in these attacks. In times like these the borders between our countries just melt away.

I suspect that most nationalities were represented in the innocent victims of the aircraft hijackings and building destruction. Yes, that that probably included innocent Iraqians, Lebanese, Afghanis, Libyans, Iranians, Koreans, Palestinians and most other nationalities. These nationalities and countries are as much victims as the rest of us irrespective of race or religeon.

It is often forgotten that we are all from the one family and are one family. Is this not the the indisputable truth?

I just can not express how sad all the people that I know are at my House, my work everywhere I go are about this tragedy!
We listen to the radio at work all day to gather the news and hope for the victims!
Today at 10:00 am german time all work stopped for 5 minutes to be quiet, to think of the victims.
This was supported by all unions AND employers!
I think this is great and should show the terrorist that most of the world is not going to let them get away with this! That beeing said I hope that the measures that are beeing take will not lead to the waste of more innocent lives!

PS: I hope people understand what I want to say, sorry it is very hard to express feelings in a foreign language

Very nice article.... of course, this is the same country that refused US aircraft overflight rights during the raid on Libya thus increasing the warning time for the target. Maybe they've seen the light.

We are "ALL" Americans may be the legal expression but not necessarily a genuine one. Leaglity and genuinity are always miles apart. There has always been a "fifth column" in most countries during any war. (Fifth Column means a bunch of traitors acting against their own country.) Accepting numerous "refugees" from questionable places decreases the security of our nation and other nations. The current condemnation of Australia's refusal to accept Afghani "refugees" is an issue not to be dealt with easily. How can we say for certain that people who were able to pay upto US$2500 for transportation to Australia from Indonesia were not Taliban or Ben Laden's emissaries? From what most people know, income in Afghansitan is well below this kind of amounts per year. So, where did these "refugees" get such enormous amounts from?? Seems like someone is financing them and this "someone" seems to have a purpose in spending this money.

I don't know if most Americans knew but a great number of young Arab men in Australia are indulging in gang rapes of white Anglo-Saxon women with the sole purpose of ethnic cleansing and humiliation. Why should pests like these be given any humanitarian consideration when they apply for refugee status and the next thing they do is rape white women?!? BTW, these gang rapes by Arabs are well documented in major Asutralian newspapers, so the ones who doubt it may check the websites...

Maybe the 1st World countries should review their immigration policies and remove the clause of "non-discrimination"....??

I think that black humor, concering refugee and immigration matters, such as Spider's message, is not appropriate in view of the recent events.

To get back on topic, an email from a distributor in England who sent it to a acquaintance of mine:

This photograph was on the front of most of the UK newspapers this morning.

At the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace this morning the band played 'Star Spangled Banner'. This broke a tradition that has run for centuries in this country. It was personally authorised by the Queen of
England. Word got around and by the time it took place thousands of people mainly American were at the gates of the Palace 10-20 deep. They all sang the anthem many found it moving. It let the American people know that they are not in this alone.

Anyway, at 12:00 CET today sirens will ring for the Europe-wide observance of 3 minutes of silence to honor the victims.
