Will Fly for Miles - Does that work?

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this.

Are there (legitimate) sources that will let you get the travel for free and collect points, i.e. courier firms, etc.? I'm talking about travel to pretty much anywhere, with the intent of just collecting the miles, sticking a pin in the map, and perhaps staying overnight in some far flung place.

Obviously this would only appeal to someone who loves travel for the sake of travelling.

I think those types of operations are few and far between. I looked into this a year or two ago, and apparently you could find some opportunities to do this before 9/11, but now there's apparently not much, if any, courier-type travel.

Although I don't believe too many operations like that, if any, exist - since this isn't Mileage Run related, I'm going to move this into the MilesBuzz Forum.

Please continue discussion there.

Thanks!

I think the way most of us do it is to have a conventional job that involves travel. You probably won't be able to decide where you go while on business, but you collect the miles which you then use to go where you want to.
