Miles for Flight Simmulator
Anybody know of any airlines that offer miles for flight simmulator experience. I know Lufthansa does.. 100,000 miles.
Thanks! |
Flyerboy:You may want to look into a flght sim with a 2 day program given in Denver using the UAL 737 training sim by ATOP. I believe it runs $395 for the two day pre-pilot course and includes 2 hours in a 737-200 sim. That seems a better price than paying upwards of 100K hard earned FF miles when airlines such as UAL in the past have allowed FF'ers to bid on sim time.
Here is their link: www.b737.com/home.htm |
The Qualiflyer Group offers the following 1hour + briefing programs:
Swissair MD11, A32x or A330, 80000 Miles Sabena B737 or Avro RJ85 80000 Miles Crossair Saab 2000 60000 Miles The simulators are located in Zurich (SR), Brussels (SN) and Basel (LX). |
Delta regularly runs an auction for various experiences including sim time in Atlanta. The last I looked at it it went pretty cheap - like 70,000 miles including domestic travel. It wasn't on the last auction.
http://www.delta.com/skymiles/sm_pro...tion/index.jsp I did however finagle my way into a couple of hours of UA 747-400 sim time in Denver a few years back. Ranks in the top 10 of my great life experiences. Toughest landing was the approach into the old Kai Tak airport. What a ride! |
check out Cathay Pacific. 48,000 Asiamiles will get you a 747-200 simulator experience in HK. 1.5 hours of briefing, then 1 hour of simulator experience. BUT, you will be with a partner, so you get to fly for 30 minutes only. You will get to fly from old Kai Tak airport to the new Chep Lap Kok airport. They will give you a nice flight logbook with your picture as a gift.
