40,000 WorldPerks Miles for Sprint switch
Just posted the details in the miles/phone section... but this is so good:
http://csg.sprint.com/offsite/nwa_3q...time_2213.html |
FYI ... there is a monthly fee of $3.95, LD switching fee that varies by state and LEC ($4.95 where I live), and tax surcharge of $1 per thousand miles.
Assuming you make no calls, you'll pay ~$116 for 40,000 miles. That's enough miles for two off-peak domestic tickets. Not bad. ------------------ He who dies with the most miles ... is dead. |
Here's an interesting fact for use in your economic calculations: My local telephone carrier charges a fee of $2 a month if you DON'T select ANY long distance carrier! (I presume this is because your local carrier has to go to the "trouble" of allocating your long distance business to the highest bidder.) So if you shave $36 ($2 a month times 18 months) off of that $116 figure, the deal gets even better.

Any post with a good deal is always appreciated. I don't know if you're aware of this (based on your # of posts, I think we both fall into the "newbie" category) but David Fisher posts this type of info on The Mileage Workshop http://www.mileageworkshop.com/ (click on News to see this offer posted 9/2). You may find even more leads for miles. Also check Gary Steiger's website at http://home.earthlink.net/~pgary/TravelFrame.html . I know this was brought up in FT a couple of weeks ago, but someone (especially us newbies) may find it useful. |
