Transfer TWA miles to AA online today
From the FF Crier >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>> Transfer TWA Miles to AAdvantage... AAnytime >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>> Based on the initial policy statements from American and TWA regarding merging the AAdvantage and Aviators programs, many Aviators members assume that their Aviators miles will auto- transfer to AAdvantage on Nov. 30, and NOT before. In fact, Aviators accounts will be transferred on Nov. 30 (assuming you have accounts in both programs). But you can also transfer miles immediately -- either all or a portion of them. And in the case of a partial transfer, the remaining Aviators miles will auto-transfer to AAdvantage on Nov. 30. So, if you need to top off your AAdvantage miles to reach an award level, and you have the missing miles in your Aviators account... problem solved! You can make the transfer online, at http://www.aa.com/aviatorsmileage or by calling 1-800-882-8880. --------------------- I did it yesterday and the miles have already showed up in my AAdvantage account. |

For those people who still haven't been able to transfer their Aviator miles -- just keep trying to call TWA. Hopefully you will encounter a more sympathetic CSR (that's what worked for me).

Thanks for the info. As I push toward 2MM, I've been anxiously waiting for these to move over. I did the transfer tonight and the miles posted to my AA account instantly!
|
Just went to the American Page to merge my accounts. The computer wouldn't cooperate. Thnk it had something to do with the fact that when I got the TWA account there was no such thing as "on line". Anyway, spoke with Scott @ the customer service number. He was very polite and helpful. The accounts have been merged successfully.

From seeing this post, I was able to transfer my husband's TWA miles to AA. They appeared instantly. Thanks!

Worked like a charm for me as well. Slightly over 20K orphan miles may now be put to use.

Does anyone know if transferring Aviators miles counts as a partner for the 20/20 promo?

I have a question for those of you who have transferred Aviator miles to AAdvantage:
What showed up on you AA account? Was it just the unused TWA miles that became available AA miles and also Program-to-Date miles? Or were all of your TWA Program-to-Date miles, both unused and used (I understand this total can be ascertained by calling TWA), added to your AA P-t-D totals? This has been the subject of major interest with TWA loyalists. I have read somewhere that AA said all would be added; but I would like to know if there is concrete evidence that it has happened. |

Just the unused miles are being added.

Thanks for this link! I just went and made the transfer, and to my surprise I had 15K in the TWA account. Not sure why, as I have flown them only once 5 years ago, BOS -> JFK. I did have an Aerolinas Argentinas flight that should have partnered with TWA, but the credit never showed on my statements. Maybe it posted much, much later http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Chix:
My question was: DID they transfer; not WILL they be credited. I notice from sbrower above and in another thread on this same board that the used TWA Program-to-Date miles did NOT post with these early transfers into AA. With all due deference to AA, I have had too many disappointments with their past "promises". I'm from Missouri - so Show Me. Only then will I will be a believer. My fingers are still crossed. I will wait until it is done automatically. |
Kappa: I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, and I don't have any inside track at AA. But, I owe it to you to give a more complete response.
I think that people who thought that the *used* program to date mileage would be transferred are mistaken. I think that AA always meant that they would transfer the *unused* program to date miles. Yes, they do transfer. Yes, they do increment the AA program to date mileage. No, I have seen *no* evidence that AA intends to give credit for the *used* miles. |
Sbrower: Since you posted above I did a little searching and came up with the source of my information that AA would recognize the Program-to-Date Aviator miles. It was in the following link:
http://www.planebusiness.com/cgi-bin...c&f=6&t=001568 (I hope the length of this URL doesn't screw up this thread's width. There was a thread on this same subject on FT and to the same conclusion. I made a post on it. But I haven't taken the time to locate it because the search function here is so limited. I still plan to wait and see. I am in no hurry for the unused miles and the P-t-D miles would only get me closer to 3MM AA; but not there. |
