New FTalk Luggage Tags

Hi,

I see the new luggage tags are now available, am I right in saying that people who bought the old style ones recently will be entitled to free replacements with the new style ones?

Do I need to mail someone to get this done?

Thanks,
Richard

I received two in the mail yesterday. They have a much more durable laminate covering than the previous tags, which did not.

These new tags ought to make it much easier for FTers to spot one another while on the road.

Yes, I got mine a week ago now. They are VERY easy to spot! A slight concern, as my wife promptly pointed out to me, is that the attachment type/style is still such that it is difficult to insure that they will not become accidentally detached.

All members are PRIORITY tagged! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

JRF Jul 21, 2001 7:57 am

They are as nice as the real DL Priority tags. In fact, I imagine if you have one of the FT tags and are on DL, there is a good chance on a busy day your bag gets thrown into the priority pile.

My replacement tags arrived today. Thanks, Randy!! I like them and think they will be easier to spot than the old ones. I am still waiting for my first unexpected FT tag sighting in an airport.

dgordon Jul 21, 2001 8:54 pm

Can you tell those of us who do not have tags a little more about these tags. Where do you order them and how much do they cost?

Click on "store" at the top of your page. You can find the tags there. Some replacement tags were sent out by Randy & Co. for broken tags.

Hope I get my replacement ones soon....

Only one of my tags made it past one use.

So far the new tags are a big hit, we are getting a lot of orders. If your like me I always check bags in the airport for a FT tag. Hopefully this will be earier to spot.
If you ordered one of the 'old' tags and it broke please email me for a replacement.

I just got one, like everyone else at the San Diego FT get together this weekend, and I absolutely love it!

One of the been around longer FTs tried to impress me with a, "but I have an old gold." I was not impressed. I love the hot lime green flourescent colors of the ones we just got. (These are the new ones and not the easily torn old ones?)

Thanks alot for passing them out to those of use who attended.

Belated thanks for the luggage tag replacements -- SURE are different http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif

Likewise, looking forward to my first sighting upon first use Wednesday at LAX!!

I just received mine and while I have not field-tested them yet, they do look both sharp and sturdy. I agree that they look a lot like Delta's priority tags.

Just ordered mine, will probably take a little longer to receive, especially since I also ordered a cap, t-shirt and some pins... isn't it great, online shopping http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I look forward to my first airborne FT encounter. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

airoli Aug 7, 2001 1:11 pm

I ordered mine as well. Should I get any kind of confirmation email or shall I just wait until the postman is kind enough to deliver them?

MoreMilesPlease Aug 7, 2001 7:16 pm

I got mine in the mail fast! Promptly put them on my husbands luggage, laptop, carry-on. He's the roadwarrior in the family traveling every week. So if you see him in LAX,TPA,SEA,MIA, ATL, Tuscon, San Fransico, Philly, Kansas, ummmm those are most of his sites, and he looks clueless about them. Just smile and know he is the husband of MoreMilesPlease. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I am working on labels to put my handle on them to identify him! Both of us are off to AMS and then LHR next week so hope to see some tags there.

I ordered mine, hoping to maybe see someone on the way to Florida or Germany. I thought that it is a great way to support a site that has saved me so much money!

JRF, don't forget the thread on the DL tags and how well they worked. If the baggage handlers mistake the FT tags for DL tags your bags could be the last off the plane.

airoli Aug 27, 2001 12:24 pm

OK I got my tags today and I adore them already. So watch out everybody, I sure hope to meet all of you (I can mostly be found in Europe).

I'm sitting in the Miami Airport Marriott reading FT after flying in on CO and just sent in my order for luggage tags. I'm new here and new to FF due to a career change. Hope to see y'all in the air somewhere down the line!! I'll keep my eyes open for FT tags.

Just curious...how come this thread didn't get shut down already? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Anyway...back to the thread...I gotta order myself some of these tags!

Pam Aug 28, 2001 6:10 pm

I had mine on all our bags between MEM and LAS last weekend. Didn't see any others, but I surely could locate my luggage! I like them.

Anagnorisis Aug 29, 2001 4:11 am

Has anyone ever spotted other FTs thanks to the luggage tags?

tovaz Aug 31, 2001 1:57 pm

Ordered 5 tags a few weeks ago, gave 2 to a couple of other FTers, and kept 3 for myself for the brief/computer case, and then my luggage.

This past week, I was in the following airports: TUS, DFW, MIA, MAD, FRA, AMS, MUC, and BRU, and didn't see one. Next week, TUS, DFW, DCA and ORD. Maybe my luck will be better then.

I searched for any tags at MUC and SFO with no luck either.

ElmhurstNick Sep 2, 2001 9:45 am

I was able to spot Rudi at ORD because of his FT tags. I was going from our arranged meeting point to his gate because he appeared to be running late, and we crossed paths in the psychedlic tunnel between ORD B and ORD C, but on the most distant people-mover from mine.

I'd never met Rudi before so I wasn't sure it was him, then I caught the luggage tag.

delacpa Sep 2, 2001 8:51 pm

LAX/IAH/BHM/MEM last week-end, but alas did not meet any of my "new" friends.
