Legroom in Economy Class

I would like to know which airlines has more legroom in Economy Class on INTERNATIONAL flights?

I have a sneaking suspicion that AA probably has the most.

Nonetheless, I'm 5'9", so it's really a non-issue to me.

Cheers,
Lawrence

Bluesky since your profile says you come from Australia, let's try and be regional, with some caveats:

1. Air New Zealand (NZ) has a 34" Y pitch on its international 747-400's

2. Ansett International 747-400's have somewhat better pitch (33"-34") in the upstairs Y section. Note the B767-200's used to places like Bali have standard domestic Y setup, and thus are around the 31" pitch mark.

3. Of the Asian carriers serving Australia, TG (Thai) has decent (32"-33" pitch) on its 747-400's but abysmal pitch on the A330's which should be avoided at all cost.

4. SQ pitch would be decent if for the underseat boxes for the KrisWorld video system that block your legroom to some degree.

5. QF/UA seem to have around the same 31" pitch, noting Economy Plus section on UA which has 35"-36" - very nice if you are an elite FF member or on a Y or B class fare. QF does not have this at the moment.

6. BA has World Traveller Plus product as well, which offers around 34"-35" pitch in the same manner as UA - for a surcharge.

7. Lufthansa (LH) has very tight pitch in the back of every longhaul aircraft I have been in. between 30" and 31".

Hope this helps a little.

I believe that ANA has extra leg room in economy...if you are going to Asia.

MH is very good too and the seat reclines to 127° (they claim)

Forget Delta. Their legroom is a disgrace both domestically and internationally.

Add TG's 777s to that. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

What about CX (747 and 330)?

Here is the info for Air Canada

767: 32" pitch
747: 34" pitch
A340: 34" pitch

AC also flies the A330 on flights to Europe. Unfortunately I don't have the info for that type.

Don't have the exact measures but I think compared to most, SAS aircraft have generous legroom in Economy Class.
