Priority Pass versus Airline Clubs/Lounges

Just received a brochure suggesting I join Priority Pass, which claims to be the largest privately owned chain of lounges/clubs at airports throughout the world. I am familiar with clubs such as Admirals Club and Ambassadors Clums, but not this. Anyone familiar with Priority Pass and is a worth my membership?

It all depends on who you fly. After I got the Platinum Amex card, I didn't need the card anymore for lounge access for Continental. And for AA, I get lounge access to Oneworld lounges on days of international travel.

I had used the Priority Pass before in Europe and it has been helpful. Even though it states that you don't need to fly that particular airline on that day of travel, I have had some arguments with staff who denied access when not flying them. If you are not sure, try out the regular pass sign up in which they charge you $17 or $20 everytime you access a lounge.

It is great if you have no airline status or flying with a budget carrier. I've used them at STN, LGW, and LIN. Beats sitting in a crowded Euroterminal any day!

Its even better when it comes as part of my annual fee for my UK Amex Platinum!

I have found it very useful in Europe. Used it to take in guests and friedns when we have been on a trip.

It all depends on how often you travel, and in which class too. If you do a number of trips in Economy, then its worth it!

Thanks,
Richard
