Help - Expiring Bump Ticket

The tickets expire at the end of the month. I can pick a city pair, a date a year from now and get a ticket (hopefully).

My question is: Can I then change the dates on the ticket? I assume there will be a change fee, but would these new tickets still be subject the use restrictions. ie no seats for this class.

Is this the best way to salvage the use of the ticket?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Flyertalk jjc8. Without knowing the airline it is difficult to answer. Please update with that information. You can also probably find the answer on the airlines Terms and Conditions (T&C) on the website. Cheers.

Most Airlines have a pretty strict policy on bump tickets. I am assuming you got the free trip voucher instead of the dollar value voucher. In hind sight, you probably should have gotten the dollar value voucher. Either way, I believe most policies require you to use it or lose it. There isn't really anyway to extend it beyond the year that they gave you. I would know because I've tried to do the same before. Good Luck.

Welcome to Flyertalk. I suggest that you re-post this question in the airline forum for the voucher you have.

I'm going to close this here.
