Cheap Summer Trips - Anyone Going??
Last week I got bombarded with cheap flight/hotel offers from every Airline and Hotel with a pulse. I finally bit on one, buying 7 of the United $98 R/T tickets for a family trip to Disney World at the end of the summer. Has anyone else bought some of these cheap tickets from AA, UA, CO, WN, etc. or booked one of these e-mail blasted $49 rates from Starwood or Radisson? Did I take a sucker punch? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes. LAX-MIA for $97.50 total on CO. (vacation)
SNA-DFW $86.50 total on NW. (visit relatives) SNA-DTW $101 minus $50 UA cert = $51 on UA(visit relatives). Also get decent mileage with all of these! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

I know there are several of us who booked several SJC-JAX flights at $130 for mileage runs.

DEN-ORD-LGA for $209 on AA.
I dunno. It seems like Denver nevers gets any good deals like everyone else. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Cheers, Lawrence |
MSP is so dominated by NWA, that we got no good sale fares.
I am however, going to the new St. Regis Monarch Beach in August, the St. Regis Club in NYC for the Red Sox v. Sons of Satan series in Sept. I'm paying for airfare, but getting those rooms for free absolutely ROCKS! We're also going to Chi to the new W next weekend for $99 a night. Summer hotel rates are great. I only wish those in charge of airfare would cooperate. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
I bought 8 Florida tickets (JAX, TPA, MCO), all from San Jose, for a variety of dates through October. Base prices ranged from $108 to $138. I used vouchers from being bumped, though, so my total cost for all 8 tickets was about $250. Can't resist a bargain http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Who's offering $98 fares to Orlando? I found $164. Thanks...

Besides the SJC-JAX that others have also booked, I got SMF-PBI $154 R/T on Delta for a business trip in late September. The $109 R/T fare for the same route didn't work for the days I needed to go.

Booked MCI to TPA for $91.00 RT on DL for Sept and Oct. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I thought I grabbed a good deal yesterday to go to Toronto tomorrow for 251.00 RT with my daughter for a quick getaway. The hotel rates were horrible due to demand. Lots going on there now. I like the 98.00 RT prices better...........where was I when those came out? I get the emails, guess I need to read them closer.
Wishing all of you safe trips! |
I bought 2 R/T's on CO, LAX-EWR-MIA for $97.50 each, 14160 total status miles.

The $97.50 LAX-MIA fare was not promoted by Continental at all -- you would not have found it advertised on their web site or in any email. Someone "stumbled" onto the fare and posted it here on Flyertalk in the "Mileage Run" section. This was just a couple weeks ago.
I believe it was available for less than three or four days before Continental yanked it. I reserved a couple $97.50 itin's on Continental's web site when the fare expired. I had not purchased the tix yet but thankfully, Continental honors lower fares for 24 hours even after the lower fare has expired, so I did not hesitate to pay for them and lock the fare in...
