thanks

Thanks for the extra ways I can earn frequent flyer miles.
I have just started to use them here on the web

Have you checked out clickrewards.com? They have a great new way to earn miles on line.

opus17 Nov 24, 2000 1:23 pm

I just wanted to know what it feels like to bring back an old, meaningless thread.

Jim_B Nov 24, 2000 1:29 pm

Hope you feel better now http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

goldelite Nov 29, 2000 6:01 pm

At least clickrewards survived the 30 months .. more than I predict for a certain program or two right now starting up!

keithnj973 Nov 29, 2000 11:12 pm

OPUS I am LMAO , thanks!

magic111 Nov 30, 2000 6:02 am

Opus the next meaningless thing you have to get a feeling for is placing links in other threads in case some FTers fail to come to the Buzz and read this. LMAO http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

keithnj973 Nov 30, 2000 11:15 am

Again I am LMAO, you guys hit the nail on the head!

Cindy Nov 30, 2000 12:54 pm

Well, I fell for it. Now cut that out! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Guess that the current flap shows that those who wish to do dishonourable things should remember to toss their cookies.

It has been over 8 months since I last revived an old, meaningless thread for no good reason (some people do it every day!).

It's like riding a bicycle, you never forget how to do it. Except, I did forget how to ride a bicycle.

By the way, please also see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum18/HTML/000102.html . That thread has absolutly nothing to do with this thread.

blairvanhorn Jul 3, 2001 6:10 am

Thank you, OPUS17. I wasn't around for the first revival, but this one was pretty fun. And you're right: that other thread has absolutely nothing to do with this one. Fascinating.

"Meaningless?"

"...no good reason...?" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

It is indeed quite humbling to be in the very presence of such an omniscient connoisseur(s)! The arbiter/tribunal clearly has spoken! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Not all FT's, it would seem, have a very keen sense of history, or for that matter of seeing current events within any context, eh? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Can you imagine if we all only had the great wisdom to know what is "meaningful" to everyone else? And what a "good reason" versus a "no good reason" is?

Perhaps one day, I too, and all FT's for that matter, will learn from the judiciousness exhibited in the so very "meaningful" chiding post(s) above!

And perhaps one day, I too, and all FT's for that matter, can learn to be equally arrogant, oh pardon me, sagacious! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

We can all then share in a perfectly homogenous and truly condescending FT board! We can all routinely mock each others posts/thoughts/efforts/ whatever! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Yet, if not, I'll somehow just manage, in any case! And until all FT'ers can be as consistently "mindful" and "worthwhile" as you manifestly deem yourself/yourselves to be, may I suggest that you simply try to possibly overlook the faults of so many others, such as myself, in the interests of all involved! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Just a suggestion! Nor is it a new one, however! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

Another first! I get flamed for insulting myself! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

(Sorry, my "period" key is broken and I have to end all my declarative sentences with exclaimation points!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FewMiles Jul 3, 2001 11:07 am

opus17, if you turn Num Lock on, you can use the decimal point on the numeric keypad so you can avoid all those exclamation points! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

No flame intended, so please accept my apologies! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I do wish that we would all be mindful of others and respectful of their posts/efforts, however - especially when we do not like the content, or even the person themselves, for whatever reason! IMHO, we have far too many posts about posts/posters! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Imagine, just perhaps for one moment, if I were to comment on all the posts I did not care for! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Have a great holiday everyone! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

lacanau Jul 3, 2001 11:38 pm

I thought it was funny, too. Life's too short to be serious all the time! (I'm sure there must be a thread on this somewhere... let me just go and check...)

Reads like heavy sarcasm at someone else's expense, at least on this side of the ocean.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Not all FT's, it would seem, have a very keen sense of history, or for that matter of seeing current events within any context, eh? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif </font>
Seems to indicate that opus17 lacks a sense of history or the ability to see events in focus.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Perhaps one day, I too, and all FT's for that matter, will learn from the judiciousness exhibited in the so very "meaningful" chiding post(s) above!</font>
Implies that there is nothing to learn from opus17, and indicates that his lessons are unwelcome, unneeded, and meaningless.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">And perhaps one day, I too, and all FT's for that matter, can learn to be equally arrogant, oh pardon me, sagacious! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif </font>
Appears to state that opus17 is arrogant based on his posts here.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">We can all then share in a perfectly homogenous and truly condescending FT board!</font>
Implies that opus17's efforts will necessarily lead to a condescending FT.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Yet, if not, I'll somehow just manage, in any case! And until all FT'ers can be as consistently "mindful" and "worthwhile" as you manifestly deem yourself/yourselves to be, </font>
A final shot: tells opus17 where to stick his advice, and announces one will continue doing whatever one wants.

Actually doc -- since you don't believe you do bring back meaningless threads, why the response here?

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Imagine, just perhaps for one moment, if I were to comment on all the posts I did not care for! </font>
I guess if you did then I would have to go somewhere else to find out about NW's new service between BFN, MN and BFN, ON, since time would become perhaps too scarce?

But of course -- no flaming meant!

doc Jul 4, 2001 9:34 am

Thank you, Judge Messier, for bringing this thread forward still again and helping to manifestly illustrate the point that these kind of posts have no place in FT! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

hehehe http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

by the way, does anyone know what the record is for "refreshing" a meaningless thread? surely, opus you could have done better than 8 months! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
