Where to book on Worldspan?
Hi,
What is the best site to book fares using Worldspan? Even better... is there a site that has a "Dream Map" (a la Travelocity) that uses Worldspan? Actually, I realized that what I'd really like is a feature like Travelocity's "Fare Calendar" that only shows the dates a specific fare is available. My "problem" is that often fares I find on air-fare.com are not shown on Travelocity. (SFO-YVR for example. $98 on air-fare.com, ~$150 on travelocity) I'm asking because I'm finding a lot of great fares using air-fare.com, but I can NOT seem to find any actual FLIGHTS to book these fares on! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Thanks, Mo [This message has been edited by SFplat (edited 06-12-2001).] |
Not sure if it's the best site, but Expedia uses Worldspan. Good luck.

You can get to Worldspan via air-fare.com...just click on the "Reservations" button. You have to register, and ticketing is through an Ohio travel agency, and they add a surcharge, though.

Thanks for the tip! Just checked Expedia and the fare is indeed listed.

Thanks Lokahi. Actually, this is what I don't like. Just being shown a fare then having to punch in specific days to try and actually find flights that have that fare. I think what I really meant to ask in my original post is for a "Fare Calendar" feature like Travelocity has that uses Worldspan.
For example, air-fare.com is currently showing SFO-YVR for $98. I am unable to actually find flights that have that fare available. Travelocity's lowest fare is ~$150 for this route. Basically, I'd like to see only the flights the fare is available on and just pick from those. <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">Originally posted by Lokahi: You can get to Worldspan via air-fare.com...just click on the "Reservations" button. IAF only checks fares once a day (in the morning). Many of the fares it's displaying are gone by evening (or afternoon). If you check fares on Travelocity now, you will only see fares that are available now.

SFPLAT,
To follow up on the last poster's point, fares are loaded into Worldspan at about 12:30 am EST (9:30pm PST). It is on this load where the best fares are typically found. Worldspan's next fare load is at around 11:30am EST (8:30am PST). Often many of the 'crazy' fares are gone at that time. There's a good chance you're missing these fares due to time zone constraints. |
as was stated above Expedia uses WSPN.
What was not covered above is that Expedia has a fare calendar. To find it click on the flights TAB at the top of the home page. Then look on the left side of the screen in the first column--there it is FARE CALENDAR. Works on WSPN just like you asked. And no surcharge. |
